Quite conceivable that if we were to get 6/6 points this weekend (think the 2 on Sunday are a given) then we could finish 3rd. Steelers would need to lose to storm and giants lose to Cardiff but if that happens then we finish 3rd. I’m looking forward to seeing how the seeding plays out after this weekends games.

We should get 6 points quite comfortably this weekend. Braehead are certainly beatable,Dundee have nothing to play for and as for the Caps, well that’s not even a contest. Two big games will be massive in deciding final positions. Cardiff v Belfast Manchester v Sheffield

Regulation wins (first tie breaker) isn't in our favour either.

This is what I'll go with, we'd actually end up in the 3/6 with Belfast in this scenario. I've not bothered with OT wins and losses, which will obviously have an effect: Tonight: Giants v Lightning = Home win, BG +2 Flyers v Steelers = Away win, SS +2 Devils v Storm = Home win, CD +2 Flames v Stars = Home win, GF +2
Friday: Clan v Panthers = Home win, BC +2
Saturday: Flames v Clan = Home win, GF +2 Steelers v Caps = Home massacre, SS +2 Lightning v Flyers = Away win, FF +2 Storm v Blaze = Home win, MS +2 Stars v Panthers = Away win, NP +2 Devils v Giants = Home win, CD +2
Sunday: Giants v Stars = Home win, BG +2 Blaze v Flames = Home win, CB +2 Storm v Steelers = Home win, MS +2 Devils v Lightning = Home win, CD +2 Caps v Panthers = Away thumping, NP +2
Final Standings ---------------------------- 01 Cardiff Devils 81 +6 = 87 02 Manchester Storm 73 +4 = 77 03 Belfast Giants 66 +4 = 70 04 Fife Flyers 68 +2 = 70 05 Sheffield Steelers 65 +4 = 69 06 Nottingham Panthers 65 +4 = 69 07 Guildford Glames 63 +4 = 67 08 Braehead Clan 54 +2 = 56 09 Coventry Blaze 53 +2 = 55 10 Dundee Stars 48 +0 = 48 11 MK Lightning 40 +0 = 40 12 Edinburgh Capitals 11 +0 = 11 Well you got 3/4 right for Wednesday night and your only failure was in the completely dead rubber in Cardiff. The Friday night match in Braehead is key to the weekend really. The complexion of most of the weekend matches changes completely depending on the result on Friday.

Current matchups are Devils (1) v Clan (8) Storm (2) v Flames (7) Giants (3) v Panthers (6) Fife (4) v Steelers (5)
I’m finding it hard to see us not getting steelers or giants now.

Steelers all the way , the only way that won't happen now is if Devils beat giants. Oh well trophyless year I guess .. lol

I know our head to head this year reads pretty good for us Steelers, but our goals have been drying up.

A hell of a lot to be decided yet. We can still finish anywhere from 3rd to 6th. Although we shouldn't finish 6th now unless we lose tonight.
Cardiff and Giants is the big one today. Giants win and I think they'll get 3rd. Likely leaving Panthers and Steelers 4 & 5.
But as has been said. Steelers could easily get beaten in Manchester tomorrow.
This is why there is still plenty to engage fans this late on. From an overall league perspective it's a shame Cardiff ran away with it. Behind them it's really tight and league positions are still important for play off seedings regardless of the fact the league title itself is over.

Which I think the club will reiterate, to bang on about what a great season it's been. Panthers in there till the end.Bar the more difficult route of fixtures and Devils pacing themselves in front of the rest.

I know it's still early and we don't know when or who we're playing yet,but looking at the seating plan ticket sales are very poor for the quarter final at the moment.

40 to go, and Clan are so rubbish they aren't putting any pressure on. 13 left for them to reverse a 3-1.

If all games finish as they are now I believe we will avoid a Steelers QF (unless we lose to Edinburgh tomorrow 😂).

Sheffield v Manchester is the big one tomorrow. We now can't get Sheffield (unless we do lose to Caps). If Sheffield lose, even in O.T we will get 3rd Spot. That will give us either Fife or Guilford. If Sheffield get the win we finish 4th which will be Giants. Unless they lose to Stars at home and Guilfors win.
Simple! 😁

Blaze win and qualify.
We should have home advantage, but it could still be Belfast, Sheffield, Fife or Guildford I guess.

Surely Finnerty won't play his back up twice in 2 nights will he?

Surely Finnerty won't play his back up twice in 2 nights will he? Not sure it'd go down to well. I think Sheffield are Manchesters biggest rival. Although if he is keeping his number 1 fit for the QF you can't really blame him.

Surely Finnerty won't play his back up twice in 2 nights will he? He could and its quite rightly entirely up to him. His job is to look after HIS team and stuff what anybody else thinks. I like Finnerty. He's got balls and I'd love to see him at Panthers, because he can recruit decent players,he does and says what he thinks, criticises when needed and sticks up for himself and his team when necessary.
