With the potential for “we want change” chants at forthcoming games, Panthers felt they had to make the announcement now, otherwise it would look like the fans had “forced” the decision. The truth is they have been forced to bring forward the announcement meaning they actually do listen to the cage, but they just won’t ever admit it.
Secretly, Moran is petrified of fan power because it will always expose him, we just need to keep the pressure on, particularly regarding getting in an experienced coach, not just a yes man.

Listen to the cage? Nonsense - you overestimate what is on here. Much is the negative repetitive sniping only reduces the validity of the comment. It is no longer a forum for discussion, only the chance to slag off all involved without any reasoned discussion. This is the "crying wolf syndrome" - you ignore it as its the same every time. Yes I think they look at it, but I think the driving force is the fact that may probably won't renew season tickets as it stands. Yes there are valid points , but there is a realisation that what is happening will reduce the income for NB. Also no doubt the attendance at the cup v Belfast will have started the thinking. Make the statement now - Corey can bow out lots of support - quite rightly - maybe make the play offs - doubtful and recruit a coach who will give next season a boost. I would hope at least Corey can leave with a bit of dignity shown towards him. By the way many seem to looking at a non playing coach - perhaps a coach player would attract a good candidate --- Rumour and discussion from the informed will no doubt ensue!

If you’re correct, what your saying is the imports can motivate themselves for mini series games but choose to de-motivated for a long hard league campaign. That’s ultimately on them, as purportedly professional hockey players, not pee wee or some rec players. We’ll have to move on reference this subject. Coach signed them. If they don't perform,he should bullet them. That is something both Corey and Panthers really have not been very good at. We have signed some real donkeys in the last ten years, yet other than a few short term contracts, how many have got the chop ? If you put this years Panthers team in Sheffield,I'd hazard a guess at least four of them would have been gassed by now. I quite agree mate; not sure it’s all on Neilson though, it should go higher up the food chain.

You say Panthers listening to the cage is nonesense, and I admit my comment was slightly tongue in cheek, however without the “repetitive sniping” as you called it, then the Panthers would likely see just an isolated comment, it has to be relentless both on here and other social media platforms for the message to get across. You use the good point that they have probably seen many comments saying enough is enough and without change people won’t be buying a season ticket next season, but it’s because this was a repetitive comment that gives it weight. Fan power can have influence, it’s just Panthers would never ever acknowledge it! I do echo your comments regarding Corey being able to leave with dignity, and I have already wished him the very best for the future and acknowledged the great work he has done in the past in a previous post. As regard to a none playing coach? That’s a yes please from me, and a coach with good connections and as much experience as we can afford.

I wonder if those #neilsonout hashtags helped?
Without wishing to sound too disrepectful I was over the moon when I found out Neilson was leaving. I appreciate his efforts over the years but, to leave with dignity, he really should have gone a few seasons back.
Let's just hope that, for once, Moran, Black and Permanent Mutual Limited don't go for the cheap option with his replacement.

Just highlighting its not just Panthers that have stuggled to make the changes they needed.

I wouldn't say they were much better than us, but they are better than us.
They've still been poor though. Under normal circumstances, Homer wouldn't survive up there either.

I think people greatly underestimate the cage. Same stuff on other social media too,it all adds up to pressure on the club and eventually things happen.
Fans moaned about the clubs social media and it's now much better. They wanted a strength and conditioning coach and we got one. Wanted Shalla gassed and he was. A lot wanted Corey gone and we've now got it. Even silly little things that get mentioned like have the club ditched Saltbox.....and today hey presto,Southbank quiz is switched to Saltbox.
The club DO read the cage, they've told me they do,they just don't like to admit it in public.
Ok......let's gets moaning big time about MORAN ! 😂

They were way under full strength and still looked like scoring every time they went forward. With Fretter and Dowd they would have beaten us without getting out of first gear.

The Steelers are a better team than Panthers this year. And with the injuries and suspensions they’ve had too compared to our very few, they’ve have shown Panthers up pretty badly. You only need look at the league table and see who’s above us,Fife,Manchester and Guildford and it shows that Panthers really are nowhere near where we should be. What are we now, about 20 points behind the Devils and still 16 games to go yet. That really is quite appalling !

I feel the only difference between them and us is that there forwards are more clinical, we’ve seen that in the last few games. I agree they aren’t that much better than us though.

The Steelers are a better team than Panthers this year. Better, yes, just not much better. They might beat us every time, but they find ways to lose to everyone else. .631 compared to .588 - both are a load of rubbish. Luckily for Homer, his buddy boy rules the roost up there.

When both at full strength there’s not a lot between them. But if we had the Steelers injuries etc this year, where the heck would we be.....8th or 9th probably.

Corey has already had offers from across Europe including the KHL..
Such a bad coach, as soon as there's a sniff of him becoming available there's offers flooding in! Looking forward to keeping an eye on his progress when he does leave.

Long may it continue 🤣🤣🤣

Neilson says about offers in this interview with Chris Ellis: t.co/KaiZbj1yMDFair play to him. It’s not been working for years in Nottingham but if a KHL side or Swiss team wants to give him a chance, he’s got a good reputation in Europe now. Worth noting he doesn’t state what role for - I’d think it would be more realistic for him to be offered an assistant role in Russia first rather than straight in a HC!
