This game couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s our only game of the weekend, in the CC, hopefully get the youngsters in if they’re not playing anywhere else and give the regulars a few shifts off and allow the squad to take a breather on the Sunday. Obviously we still need to win to qualify from the group but we should still have more than enough for the Clan

gospel to start for me Tetlow hazeldine and kelsall regular shifts I can see this becoming something of a pre season style game in comparison to what we’ve been offered the past 10 days

Gospel won't start while we've got Galbraith.

We have 2 tickets for this game that we can no longer use, they are in Block 11 Row F, so £17 each, If any one wants them happy to sell them for £25 for the pair. They are print at home tickets so I can email them for you to print off. Let me know If anyone is interested.

The Bee's play Telford at home and Swindon play Basinstoke away on the 11th, both cup games.
Big-ish game for the Bee's as they need a win against a very strong Telford team to have a chance at the Cup as they currently sit bottom of the group, but with a few games in hand. So no Tetlow for us.
Swindon are in a comfortable position, so maybe Kelsall on the Panthers bench?

Let’s beat them, qualify for the next round and get our trophy back. I’m getting a bit tired of reading other fan forums saying we’re not getting it done domestically. With no Europe to worry about, time to throw some weight into these games.

There has been a lot of comments on places like Steeltalk along the lines of 'Nottingham aren't exactly blowing teams away...' which shows a remarkable lack of understanding about what makes our team this year special... our team wins because of hardwork and grit, not scoring 8 goals against Dundee then going missing against Belfast.

They've won 1 conference game out of 7 .. but smashing cross conference teams out of the water lol not a recipe for winning the league I'm afraid.

True, but playing Devil's advocate a bit, we are winning a lot of close games, it wouldn't have taken much for our very good record (11-3-0) to be a fairly average record. For example we've gone to OT 5 times out of our 11 wins, but have won all 5. Maybe this also goes back to a point fishman made on the MK game thread (and got a bit of a pasting for tbh), a few more goals here and there wouldn't hurt.

Blowing opposition teams away might be entertaining (up to a point) - but the true objective is simply to beat them... by one goal or by ten, it doesn't matter. This year, that's what we're doing (so far). Granted, I'd prefer a few more regulation wins over OT wins... but They Who Squeal have crowed enough in the past about their 'grit and determination' that enables them to win in OT... if their lot should get praise for that, why shouldn't ours? Not that it's surprising that comments like that are coming out on Steeltalk... where they are so gutless that dissenting voices get banned at the drop of a can of Tango, and where they don't allow the general hockey public to see what they're saying... the next level of keyboard warrior? I think the reason that he got a bit of a pasting was that it seemed to be a complaint that we aren't dominating the league top-scorer charts. Who cares? In many ways, distributed scoring is better... one key injury doesn't cripple the points production, and it makes it harder for opposing teams to lock down our offence. One thing I am really appreciating about this season's roster is that absolutely everybody is stepping up when needed - there are no passengers or prima donnas here.

I think this pretty much sums up what my grumble is relations too! At the end of the day, we’re moving along quite nicely. I don’t care if we have no top 10 scorers. We’ve just go to do our thing and find ways to win.

I suppose that it's not completely surprising after that incredible game on Tuesday... but the interest level amongst the fanbase appears to be at an all-time low for this game. I just hope that the team are a lot more fired up!
And if Mark Derlago is back, I hope he gets a rousing reception... not only has this been a bad time for him on the personal front, but he's also had to miss part of Panthers history.

We'd be seeing Sheffield DOING what was needed and winning by the odd goal and getting two points. We'd be complaining that we should be finishing games etc....well we are now DOING that and so we are on the other side of the coin.Sheffield will be looking up to us now. That's fine by me.

Job done. Clan were rubbish (including the laziest penalty shot I've ever seen) but put them away nicely. Nice to have Derlago back and in the goals.
With Shuff beating Manchester we're now qualified, so might be a game for Gospel coming up with the Storm.

Good professional display from the team, solid D and looked dangerous when going forward. Could have scored more but a few missed placed passes let us down. Clan were poor and looked like they’d never played together before and that penalty shot, when a goalie doesn’t have to move and let’s the puck hit his chest you know you’ve got no moves. Thought Ceacon or Doty might have done something to try and turn the tide but they didn’t seem bothered. All I can say is that it’s a good job Neil black doesn’t sack coaches because theirs should have gone by now

Not the most scintillating of games, but hey ho... they got the job done nonetheless. The PP is still frustrating and (my own personal bugbear) they are still dumping-and-chasing way more than I'd like to see... but it didn't make enough of a difference tonight (next Sunday may be a different matter!).
Patrick Galbraith is a major find... we really do have two #1 netminders, and then there's Sam Gospel as well (who surely has to get the start up in Manchester for the last CC group game). Galbraith really had a good game tonight - some very good stops.
Anyone know what's wrong with Shalla?

Just been rested as gospel has played for hull and we would be over import limit dressing both import netties

I didn’t go to the game but a win, only one goal conceded and qualification to the next round ticks all the boxes on a solid night from the outside

Thought the Panthers stepped off the gas at 5-1 and I don’t blame them. Clan were finished and it’s been a tough couple of weeks.
