our D hasn't looked great at times but we won't be coming up against firepower like this in the eihl, the way they move the pick around is unbelievable, shall looks a very good signing aswell as bussieres and mokshantsev, not so sure on Phillips still but we will see in time. overall I think the boys can be proud of themselves

End of 2nd Cardiff 0 Davos 7 took Bowns off Muddy now playing Welcome to The CHL Cardiff. In all seriousness, I believe its all about the home games for us and Cardiff. Unless a Elite League team gets drawn with a DEL team or a team from a similar league, its verging on the impossible for a British team to win away. Both The Panthers and The Devils have excellent squads for The Elite League however due to the wage constraints, we just can't compete at this level. I'm certain that with a bit of tweaking, The Continental Cup could be a very exciting competition if the teams that are out of the depth in The CHL, entered The Continental Cup. But that is a debate for another day.

5 on 5 we have only been beaten by Bern(lots of b's) by just one goal. Huge positive and frustration in that sentence.
Learn from those first 10 minutes and we will cause a shock or two in this tournament.
...sort that PP out though, early days but it's hard to look at right now.
Happy with that effort overall, more to come I hope.

They must have lost millions putting that on for free lol. Great for all the fans to be able to see it live and a great performance. If we play like that in the elite league we will beat most. Love the chl, can't wait for the home games.

Really pleased with the result. Can't say whether Bern gave it their all, I wouldn't expect so but still. Before the game, I was expecting us to lose by 10 or more, given Bern's stature and roster, completely proved wrong and I'm proud of that!
Garnett looked a bit shaky, unsure how many shots he faced but it was rebounds galore. If he held onto a few more and the D cleared the puck a bit quicker, the score could've been even closer.
Shalla and Perlini look to have a good understanding of each other, awesome shot for the 2nd Goal.
Mokshantsev really impressed me tonight too, didn't look out of his depth whatsoever. Great hands, quick feet and used his size well. Without sounding too negative, playing him alongside Lachowicz and Betteridge could be what holds him back. Betteridge played very well too, Lachowicz did pretty well too but to get the best out of Mokshantsev I feel he needs a Derlago or Phillips alongside him.
Onwards to Hradec now! They certainly aren't the potential underdogs we slightly thought they'd be, demolished TPS earlier. Should be another great game regardless.

Respectable result given the opposition. Hopefully stay injury free and give us a platform for the start of the domestic season.

We'll also be 3rd in the group as Mountfield have beaten TPS 5-1

Bern won the Swiss league last year and we only lost 5-2! Great result imo especially with their goals coming on the PP.
In comparison, Davos finished 5th in the NLA and are smashing Devils. Looking forward to watching this team in the league.

For every £1 you bet....... Over 5.5 goals in the game returns £1.47 First goal before 9mins 30 secs has elapsed returns £1.47 Boom. Both of these came in, lets see what Saturday's odds bring. A great performance to boot, a 5-2 loss there is about as good as it could get. We've come on leaps and bounds since our last venture into the CHL. I firmly believe we could shock one of these 3 teams at home with a vocal crowd behind us

I suspect we're gonna get out-sung at the NIC next week I spoke to one of the home fans after the game, and he said that there are 500 or so of the noisy lot due to visit us next weekend! Even if he was exaggerating that sounds like there will be a lot of them...

Outstanding effort Panthers, this is Switzerlands top team and seeded 4th overall . We battled til the end
This potentially bodes well for a descent domestic campaign.

Can anyone explain how Mosey got delay of game there?! He caught a high puck in his glove and knocked it down - the ref blew his whistle and made a throwing motion... I can only assume that he judged that Mosey closed his fist over the puck or something. Didn't look like it to me, but hey ho...

Its a shame they wont be allowed a drum in our arena, could be a real spectacle and a chance for a lot of our fans to experience a proper atmosphere

I can't see many tickets being sold for our games unfortunately. I think we should have dropped the prices to try get as many through the door as possible.

Thought we were great, really missed Brisebios and as a result Stevie Lee and Sauve had to ice over 20 mins, which was a fair bit more than the rest of the team.
So much positives to take from this match, we won more faces offs, which is really encouraging as this is something that I worried about, we coped with a team that had incredible speed and didn't sit back... really hope we carry this momentum into Saturday.

I got chatting to someone after the match too and he said around 600 are coming to Nottingham, so I don't think your guy was exaggerating!

A few thoughts after getting back from the game... The first 5 minutes or so, our lads look a bit lost... so much speed & precision coming at them. But they learned and adapted very quickly. 2 PP goals were painful, but it could have been so much worse. Don't think Lindhagen deserved 2+2 for that boarding, 2 would have been enough. That line of Perlini, Farmer & Shalla promises to be something special. Some of Philips' stick handling was sublime. Stevie Lee was an absolute rock at the back. The other player that really stood out for me was Mokshantsev. Their 4th goal seemed a bit soft - think Garnett would really want that one back. Their 5th goal was effectively another PP tally, as our guy was just coming out of the box. Those home fans were LOUD. Can we have Bratwurst served at the NIC, please?

I always knew that I had missed my job role when I see the stats from these hockey games. After a jaunt through the Bern PLAYERS, their shots on goal equals 39....the TEAM shots on goal is stressed as 40 YET we had 36 saves. Less our netman came off for one goal, whats the true figures? ?

Shows how different people see games... I agree with everything you've put except Lee. He gifted them a golden chance within 10secs & he was at fault for at least 3 of their goals. For me he was the weak link, caught static time after time, in a back line that did a decent job tonight against a well drilled, highly skilled, settled team. I would however also say Lacho put in a few good shifts, along with Betteridge who didn't look out of place. It wasn't a win but it was a great result for British hockey.

Their 4th goal seemed a bit soft - think Garnett would really want that one back. Seemed to get a bit off the defenceman on its way, should still probably have got it but it seemed to deviate a bit. Impressive result, considering last time we got some right goings over, seems like Saturday will be another tough game though. Do we know what's wrong with Brisebois? Injured/ill?
