Surely if a player tut s 24 by the play offs. Your 23 now, so not under 23.Just saying... Provided the rule is consistent I think it's OK, so long as you don't have a situation where someone starts the season as an u23 and then turns senior mid season. Although they could've made the cut off 1st September of whatever year I suppose to make it better fit the season. Not sure of the rule, maybe they are 23 and under if they start the season.

Either you're in or you're out.

Standard sporting rules really. In most sports you are classed by your age at the start of the season. Danyella is playing football for the Lowdham Colts Under 12's this year even though she turns twelve in October and will therefore be Twelve for most of the season.

I was mainly referring to PantgerG's note on Sam Gospel.Saying he's 23 now....thereby the player is not an Under 23 player now and even more so not an u23 when turning 24 later in the season.

I think it is 23 and under, as opposed to 22 and under. So Gospel makes the grade, but curious to know the answer as to when he loses this, on his birthday, or next season.

Looked up the press release, Gospel is fine all season.
The Elite League has confirmed the maximum playing roster for the 2017/18 season will be set at 19 plus up to three British trained players born in 1994 or later.

There's a cut off date. Gospel is in. I dont have it to hand. EIHL on the website says "born in 1994 or later" so 1st Jan 1994 would seem to be the cut off.

Never knew he was so highly touted to do a job at the highest level. Sounds even more promising though, looking forward to watching him next weekend.

That's my understanding, yes... all this has come as a great surprise, like many GB fans I didn't expect to see any Perlini jerseys on British ice for some time. Now that he's here... he's got to be on Pete Russell's radar for next April. As a Panthers fan, I'm both gobsmacked and delighted that we've got him... I'm also pretty chuffed as a GB fan!
