If he performs like he has in preseason them its fine by me. Stevie is a good player. Which sometimes seems to get forgotten in this forum. But hes had a couple of tough years. Im hoping hes back to form. His partnership with Sauve looked solid.

I agree with you, I myself have probably been to over critical of him at times, for a number of reasons, but there's no denying he's capable of leading by example for the team and he will stand up for anyone. As you say Lee and Sauve have looked top notch with Lee playing the more stay at home role, hopefully they keep it up and long may it continue.

Personally don't think he is the right choice we have a couple of guys who would in my own opinion would be better. However I will of course get behind Lee. Explains why his game has upped recently. However he has to know there will be no hiding now he cannot go missing and he needs to cut out the stupid errors from last year. He does that and he will be fine

I have no problem with Steve Lee wearing the C. Yes, he's had a couple of less-than-stellar seasons in some respects, but so far in the pre season that looks to behind him. And being captain is mostly a leadership function not tied to individual performance... 90+% of the work of a captain is completely unseen by us fans. But if you watch him... other players listen to him, he interacts professionally with the officials, he's respected on & off the ice, and he has always been prepared to stand up & be counted when needed. We could do a lot worse...

Im hoping hes back to form. His partnership with Sauve looked solid. Often forgotten due to sheer amount of mistakes and poor performances he's put in over the past 3-4 seasons. Clean slate though, hopefully giving him the C will galvanise him into polishing his form up. Watching him in pre-season he's been good so it bodes well. Let's hope he's more Jordan Fox than Brad Moran!

He'll be a better captain than Clarke and Moran were Not that a disliked either of them just didn't think they were captain material imo

Not really unhappy with this decision. As mentioned, he's started the season well (and finished last season better). EIHL experience wise he's the obvious choice.

Gutted for Brown - thought he'd get it I would have liked Brown too. But it's the old Brit thing again,it's all about continuity and most imports don't hang around long enough to warrant being made captain. If you give the captaincy to an import you just end up chopping and changing the captain all the time.

If arguably our 2 best players of the last 10 years see him fit, then there's no reason these guys wouldn't. I know a retweetbisnt an endorsement but Ling loves this club

Brown gets A Sauve gets A Farmer gets alternate and A for all away games With Spang for home games! I'm lost by this. Watched hockey and Panthers for a long time. Never noticed this before. Is this a normal thing i've been oblivious too all this time? Different A's home and away

Could be wrong on the teams but I know t is done over there.

Why this different A's home and away. Seems rather silly and unnecessary to me.
Cue a penalty for talking to the ref out of turn when Farmer forgets he isn't an A in a home game ! 🙄

In general no it isn't enforced, but it can be.......with our refs, why take the risk though ? Remember "chinstrap" ref last season ! 🙄
