Any reason people keep stating they want it to be the last forward to be captain as opposed to the Dman? I'm not argueing the point. Just intrigued as surely we can get a Dman with all the atributes only with a defensive skill set instead. Is it as simple as prefering the Captain to be a forward?

I reckon it's because most of us are hoping it's Lepine and don't see him as captain material. Just a guess on my part though!

IF we re-signed Lepine (which would be awesome) he'd be my captain without a shadow of a doubt! He was also an A for Evansville in his first season with them, before becoming the C the next season. I spoke to CN about this the other week and suggested that Brown deserved the C. He dismissed that pretty quickly saying that he was too young to be telling the older players what to do.

That leaves Dan Spang as the most senior guy out of the signed roster (excluding Clarke Player-Asst. Coach)

Wouldn't say Spang is the kinda guy I'd like as an A or a C but he's the only guy senior to Brown as it stands, besides Mosey, Garnett and Clarke.
I assume Corey has eyes on someone yet to be signed, for the C then.

Really starting to doubt myself now ... maybe Corey doesn't know how old his players are because I'm fairly sure I suggested Brown and his response was "Can you imagine a 24 year old guy telling players in their 30s what to do?". I think the lesson here is that it's important to pace oneself when buying beer by the stein!

All they need to do is set an example, which isn't about age, it's about attitude.

These are all highly elite players. A different breed to the players we have here. Have you got any EIHL examples?

Couple of points 1-Lecavalier was stripped of captaincy in 2001 and was renamed captain in 2008 and as such never won the cup as captain. 2-Yzerman didn't lead his team to a cup until he was in his thirties

taken from the EP interview with Mosey -
As a more senior player second time around, the 28-year-old is happy to step into a leadership role in what will be a much changed team, however, he says will lead by example rather than verbally.
"I'm fine being a leader. I'm not the most vocal guy in the room, but I'm hoping players respect me," he said.
"I hope I play by example. I like to have fun and if I yell at someone they might not take me seriously!
"If they see my commitment then hopefully that rubs off. That's what happened to me. My first year in Nottingham we had Greg Jacina.
"He was quiet but he competed every day. That's how I play."
Captain Mosey ??

We need a captain with the grit like Phillips in Sheffield and for me the best candidate is Brown...
