Compared with MK who should be their main rivals they look miles behind. Only Craige and Dunbar look half decent and the new guy Wells looks well below EIHL level didn't even reach a PPG in the french second tier

15th January 2012 - Sheffield clobbered Edinburgh 18-1 How rude. Didn't they know about 'the code'? That 'code' rubbish spouted by DS The BS was about not embarrassing a team on their home ice by scoring something like 10+ goals against them. A total load of donkey manure, but there you go. The 18-1 spanking was on Sheffield's ice, so that's their get-out clause...

Remember that night we lost 3-2 in OT to the Racers during their first season. I was there that night, what a night.
Coming back to the Flames though, it's about them getting a first season under their belt, not going out and spending a ton of money they don't have.

Blaze new signing looks good. Marc-Olivier VallerandTheir roster looks decent to me so far especially for the conference they are in. They appear to have a cracking net minder, some youth, toughness and goals. The D doesn't look amazing on paper at this point but they do still have a few left to sign. Should be some interesting and physical games in the Skydome this season.

Lots of agitators and people willing to drop the gloves on both sides, along with our (hopefully!) superior firepower should make for a cracker. roll on 9th September

I'm liking (or rather not liking) the roster Belfast are putting together. Some serious pedigree in that team Keefe is signing !

They've been here before I guarantee some of these players will expect the league to be easy and just coast I've seen it all before, add to that a rookie coach.. boom or bust me thinks

But they worry me and Keefe is not the sort of guy who will let players coast it.

But they really do seem to be going for that experienced roster for their top end guys. Interesting to see how they compete with the young guys a lot of teams are signing. Is Vandameer back for them? Im sure he was on the roster list before. But he seems to have been removed.

I'm liking (or rather not liking) the roster Belfast are putting together. Some serious pedigree in that team Keefe is signing ! They do have some good pedigree in that roster but they are looking pretty ancient, the squad so far looks even older than steelers'. They'll be even older if they have Murphy and Vandermeer although theres a lot of confusion surrounding that at the minute. It is a very typical looking giants team though using the same blueprint they've been using for years and they always seem to disappoint and come up short. They are also lacking depth as far as Brits are concerned and no u23 players at all

I think once again its Cardiff who are going to set the pace. Their defence is where the difference is. I think we'll compete up front and on the goal tending fronts. But their d looks quality. And defence wins championships.

I think the top 3 will be us devils and Steelers. I do think if Belfast go with Murphy again they'll struggle as he's starting to get exposed as a goalie. Whistle was good but seemed to spend more time injured than fit

The Earhardt is going to be an amazing competition. This is the only season I can remember geneuinely wondering if it may be so close that a team from another conference could snatch the title.

I think it will be between you guys and the Devils, with Steelers and Giants just being edged out. I love the look of our Defense, and has been said Defence wins championships, Hotham back is huge, and Paris looks a very good signing. Also our offence is looking very strong. I like the look of your team some very good signings and youth, our games are surely going to be very interesting. Anyway hope all you guys enjoy your season, but not too much.

Don't think you're far wrong. The advantage the Devils have is they have a large core of players returning, so you have known league winning quality. The Panthers are almost a new squad, so although on paper we look to have signed some quality, we don't yet know how it will all "gel" together - so I think you Devils are just edging it right now. If Panthers last signing is quality and the team gels then we should give anyone a run for their money this season.

One player doesn't make a team and if our team isn't league winning now it won't be with the addition of one more guy. This guy should supplement not make the team considering we have enough player to play signed.

Huge re-signing for Devils, Asselin is pure class, we have now re-signed our top 7 scorers from last season, and added to them. 31 yrs old and our club has never been in better hands. Devils v Panthers games are going to be a pure joy.

Not only that but they've also upgraded other players. Theirs to lose for me, they just have a depth no other team has.
