Have seen a tweet from Kwall and he almost says the same thing . Italians are bad losers and we will be up against the refs.

I am sure Williams will be doing everything to advise us - we are used to having bad calls against us, but hopefully a Canadian & Finnish refs will be more neutral, having Nickiforuk back will help - just play how we know we can and hope for the best

iginla We had this one season in our league (2000-01) and it hardly made any difference top placings. It's subjective but you can say it should favour those that try and win in regulation. Yet with the 'same old' teams who hit the top of the league each season. It would rather make an obvious gap between top and bottom more because of the length of the season. Great for these type of events though. Wrong man Spik ! 😉 You won't believe this. I started quoting John then changed it to you....opps. Blonde(grey) moment.

The 3, 2, 1 points system isn't about the tables but about the way that teams play in regulation. Personally I think it's vastly superior to what we do now. I like it too. But it's points for the league table and if you look at both tables side by side. One as 3,2,1,0 points and the other as we do it now 2,1,0. The league hardly alters. But in these short tournaments we end up with this dilemma where we can lose it all on the fact of not getting to 60 mins drawn today...... To let Odense take it also shows how you should not give up after one loss early on. Come on Panthers.

Was it the IIHF refusing to move it, or one of the other clubs (Ritten, for instance)? It is a shame, would've been nice to experience some of it. It's not quite the same when you have no involvement. Odense and The Kazahks were happy to move dates to play it here. Ritten refused.

Good luck today. Let's get an international hockey trophy in the UK. Cheers Nem. A win would promote the image of hockey in this country

Winner takes it all - almost - we need a draw or regulation win - we can do this, just hope that the players are able to decide the game and not the officials - COME ON PANTHERS

Odense lose it in OT, so that's them out of the running. Us or Ritten.

Difficult choice - 1 - Hide in a dark room until it is all over 2 - Follow game on Facebook 3 - Go to Legend and get absolutely smashed when we win
Eany, meny, miny, mo
See you at the Legend - glutton for punishment

Got a feeling the IIHF have got just what they wanted. Know we can outplay Ritten but will we get a fair chance at the game???

I have never been so nervous for any game. Ever. Everyone in Ritten is a bag of nerves. The good news is that our friends from Odense can now cheer for us tonight.

A bit of googling (OK, and some wine...) and apparently "Rittner Buam" means "Ritter Boys" in Austrian German. I notice a lot of adverts in the rink seem to be in German, and some of the announcements have been German. Is it more a German-speaking district than an Italian-speaking one? Also... the Ritter team appear to have Brian McGrattan as their logo and mascot ;D

Panthers just killed nearly 2 mins of 5 on 3, both of which were debatable calls. Panthers lead 2-1 with 6 mins of period 2 to go.
