Holy hell that's a hell of a signing not only can he fight he can most certainly hit anf who knows might even get a few goals out of him! I talked previously about needing to make a statement.... This is a hell of a statement! This guy is certain to give us that physicality and fear factor. Can't wait to see him destroy Fitzgerald! As well as half the league. Very happy panther! Hope he is here soon

What a signing.
Just hope he comes, Peckham, lizon , Janssen and history.
This is the Enforcer of the EIHL.........
Can't wait to see a clash with Fitzegerald, Salters et al.......

Salters retired last year.
Very good, looks like he'll help out more than Cam did on the point front too.

I've written a new article for The Cat's Whiskers website about Panthers signing Brian McGrattan. Link is below: wp.me/P6zbpB-nX

Great signing. Top tough guy who can play. Makes us a totally different proposition.

We actually met him on a visit to Air Canada centre to see the Leafs vs Ottawa. He had just wiped the floor with Belak and his knuckles were all bust up. Didn't stop him signing our programme tho. He's a big guy, hopefully he's as clever as Cam and doesn't sit in the box all night.

Incredible. If this is the standard of signings from the Panthers (Janssen & McGrattan), we can only admire the work that our management actually do, even if they take slack from 95% of the fan base. I've heard of Panthers (& other teams) fans who can't actually believe a player such as McGrattan will be lacing up for an EIHL team, it sounds as if we're very lucky.

I have to agree with you on this, everyone involved with bringing this together, Corey, GM, NB, etc. have all done great work. Reading between the lines I think Brad Moran deserves some credit as well as I'm sure he will have been whispering in his ear whilst they were training together during the summer. Good stuff by all!

Very good point on Moran, he's steadily reaching Fox icon levels with me. He'll never quite make it because he can't move his top lip. But still, hell of a guy.

Great signing for you folks and the league as a whole. If he's here for the hockey and not just a paid holiday he'll give you goals as well as serious toughness. Regards Doom If he comes to play he'll do great. I just hope hes not Westgarth all over again.

I see it is ok for Panthers to put bums on seats and make money if it is a player you are excited by iginla.

A very good signing if not too good to be true for our league. I'm going to buck the trend and wait and see on this one. If he comes with the right attitude like Cam then perfect. Looking forward to seeing what he brings to the team.

What I was actually getting at was that it's surprising what we can get or will spend if we want a player who will put bums on seats. Imagine what kind of "skill player" we could get though for the money he would have cost. That apart I'm extremely happy with signing Mcgrattan. For my sins i'm a Calgary Flames fan, hence my user name,as favourite player was Jerome Iginla.....Mcgrattan being my second favourite. How can you not be happy with this signing.....yes even me !!!

I have a sneaking feeling he will be here next week. Something has been bugging me since the preseason game with Braehead when GM was on the mic. He was basically selling tickets for the Devils game and said something along the lines of "The first home game on the 17th of September against the devils on sale now, ken will be back on mic and we have a surprise for you". I could be reading to much in to it or just misheard through his shouting. Don't know for sure just thought Id get it out there.

I've been told that the deal has been in the pipeline for a while too, and all sorted verbally for a while. Apparently at the players BBQ they were saying that everything is sorted so it may be a case of not announcing till the Visa was sorted and he'll be here next week! Fingers crossed anyway!

I sure hope so, though if he was going to be here surely Panthers would milk it and aim for a sell out (NOT A DIG, WHO COULD BLAME THEM?).

Funny this PantherB because only yesterday on the Devils forum you were saying there's no chance in hell of McGrattan coming here. So you're either lying on here or on there..... Which one is it?

Funny this PantherB because only yesterday on the Devils forum you were saying there's no chance in hell of McGrattan coming here. So you're either lying on here or on there..... Which one is it? Neither, Mr. Learn the facts before throwing accusations. Did i think McGrattan would come here? Absolutely not. Why? Because he's such a respected figure in North America on and off ice, there's so many opportunities he could go for but with him signing, i'd assume he wanted to play for another year or two before retiring to take an off-ice role. I'm still in shock now that we signed him. I saw earlier in the offseason that the Devils owners reported he had no interest in the EIHL, another factor in why i didn't think he'd sign. Now, what i wrote in that post about the players BBQ, i got told today. Not back then, today, when the signing had been confirmed and the person that told me felt no pressure in sharing it. I don't think the club would've liked having people go around saying we've got someone, a week or two back so they kept it secret until today. That a good enough reply for you?
