Any response from Panthers yet Rob ? They said at the Q&A that they wouldn't be sending representation to the open meeting because "they get asked to go to things like that everyday". We will be looking to gain a positive vote on Thursday and push on from there.

Any response from Panthers yet Rob ? They said at the Q&A that they wouldn't be sending representation to the open meeting because "they get asked to go to things like that everyday". We will be looking to gain a positive vote on Thursday and push on from there. Continued flippant disregard. Pretending to think this is just some 'function' that is asking for someone to attend, Thus is no charity or social club but their fans going through a legititamstely supported procedure with positive vibes. Nothing more than contempt.,,,I wonder what they'd say if attendances halved from this kind of statement? Keep going Rob and tell us what the next move is that happens if they continue yo refuse. I don't have yo ask how you invited them. I'm quite sure they are fully aware of what the Trust represents and is all about.

Some really good stuff going on behind the scenes with the trust. We've been very happy with the progress made so far. Hoping for a good crowd on Thursday and a positive result. From there we can kick on and start to make a positive difference at the club we all love.

Congratulations and well done to the throng who voted 'Yes' to formally wanting to create a Trust and engage into opening up for membership. The room booked by public members had a resounding 'nil' against the idea. Even votes came from the internet. Wow.

Congratulations to Rob Scott and all of you, Cageites and not, who have put in a ton of work getting it this far and getting a totally positive result tonight. Couldn't get there due to work, but followed on Periscope (many thanks to whoever ran that for you too) and liked what I heard. I look forward to handing over my cash for my share

Thanks for all the kind words. It's been great to see over the last 9 months how many passionate fans we have and the amount of time and effort they have been prepared to put in to try and make our club better for all of us.
We have already started the process of formally setting up now and will aim to roll out membership as soon as possible.
As always, if you have any questions then please do get in touch.

Hi Rob, Do we have an update on any progress about the setting up of the Trust yet? cheers We have been wading through the legal paperwork and have a meeting of the interim working party booked for the 9th of May. Supporters Direct and IHUK have been in conversation regarding legislation. Lots of work going on behind the scenes and we will certainly keep you all posted with any progress / slash developments.

We met up with the people behind the Portsmouth Trust this weekend and also the CEO of Supporters Direct. They gave some really useful advice especially about the way a Trust can be structured and what can be achieved through fundraising efforts to improve the clubs that we all support.
Some of the older Panthers fans may recognise the name Joanne Collins who used to work with Ice Hockey players in the Super League era. She has helped to form the Supporters Trust in Portsmouth and was really interesting to talk to about some of the off ice goings on in the Super league.

Latest update is that all legal paperwork has now been completed by the interim working party and returned to Supporters Direct. We are now waiting to hear back from the FCA but things are moving quickly with lots of work and planning taking place.
We have a meeting booked for the 9th of May so we will put a full update on the website and social media shortly after that.

What an excellent idea by the Cardiff Devils, they've created something called a "fan council" to create interaction between club and fans. If only other clubs were so forward thinking ! 🤔🙄

I had the pleasure of talking to Steve King, his wife, and Todd Kelman at the playoff weekend. What a thoroughly decent man Steve was.I Won't disclose the details of the conversation but he impressed the heck out of me. If only........

If only other clubs were so forward thinking ! 🤔🙄 And heres a link from Cardiff's website detailing the finer points of the fan council and who is involved. Orchestrated by the club itself if I'm not mistaken. Keeps the fans on board, informed and onside www.cardiffdevils.com/news/devils-confirm-inaugural-13-person-fan-council/Forward thinking for sure...... Be interesting to see if it lasts. There's no reason why it shouldn't.

If only other clubs were so forward thinking ! 🤔🙄 Yes and no. Whilst it may seem a great idea, forward thinking etc, what is the legal status of such a fan council? It's easy to keep fans on such a council happy when things are going well but what about when/if things turn not so rosey? If the members of the fan council start asking difficult questions etc what is to stop an increasingly belligerent GM/Owner from just folding said council? The cynic in me sees this as an ownership group trying to appease fans who may be considering following the sterling work of the NPST.

But what a difference in two clubs.
