5-3 to Panthers. A good game there with some very strong performances. Ling, Wiikman, Mosey and Macmillan I thought were especially good. Ling's vision and passing is awesome to watch. I hope Lee is OK, although the number of giveaways declined rapidly after he left the ice. During the first interval Corey said that Lee was the most consistent defenseman on the team. He had high praise for Lee. I'm not quite so sure. Oakford played very well so maybe he is ready to step up.

Great win. Awful boring 3rd period, defence, defence, defence.
Hope lee is ok, although him and lacho need benching for a few games. Lacho just doesn't seem interested!
Well done boys.

Very good game of Hockey (watched it on Premier Sports) Panthers were the better team going forward and could have scored more but a wins a win and a must in our chase down of the Devils. Ling's pass to DC was class. DC set the tone with the opening goal. Miika back to his best (nearly) but pulled great saves off. Hewitt was a pest all night, some very late hits from Sheffield in the 3rd. Ref had the orange and teal visor on sadly to say and Thommo whining in second period interview was class LOL great game other than that good team play and hope we can go on a roll

Decent game tonight. Pleased for cam to get on the score sheet & for oakford to step up play a regular shift & get his goal. Wiikman still does not look fit. Thought Darnell had a stinker

Out of the two games this week-end I know which one I preferred - and not just because we won - very little atmosphere at yesterday's game but we made up for it today - really getting fed up with Darnell - would like to see what he saw with his unicorn hat - missed calls for both teams, and consistently very poor

I thought that was a grind tonight but sometimes you have to grind them out. It was good to see Mika back and thought he was well protected by the D, especially Dimmen who was comfortably my mom.
We still seem to lack that team fluency, it's almost like we are waiting on someone to do something amazing in order to score a goal rather than good team play.
I have always been a fan of Lee but he's been poor this season. I hope he's ok but a little bit of time out might be just what he needs.

Can someone enlighten me to Farmers 10 min misconduct for incitement? Steeler checks a falling Moran to the head and then Farmer tries to no choice him. He got his gloves off and threw a couple but the Steeler wasn't interested in the slightest.

Can somebody explain Kolnik checking to the head. The only head it looked like he checked to me was on the end of his manhood.

Inciting isn't a penalty I'd heard before, but it does exist by the look of things. Would've thought aggressor would've been a more fitting call though, given you could say Farmer was incited by the original check. Anyway, doesn't much matter now.
Overall I thought it was a very poor game, mercifully the Steelers being worse than us and we got the result we needed. All 5 of our goals you'd think they'd be unhappy about - poor angle on the first, giveaway second, third seemed to go through Pinc, fourth thanks to some big gob on the bench (was it Thomo?) and fifth was on Pinc again. I wouldn't have been at all happy if I was a York.
2 point split though, I'll take that and move on.

Good win - some good lines out there. The Lee injury is what I have been concerned about. That left us with 5 D men, which included Oakford, who until recently was the spare 7th D man. Another D injury and we will be really stretched. People have clamouring for a replacement for the almost irreplaceable Shultz, but I see a D man to come as a priority, with Mosey playing as a forward and the D replacement in case of injury.

Fitzgerald arguing with MM next to the goal as the puck trickled over the line. Pure comedy gold.

Hopefully Steve lee is out for a while with that hit. In sorry but that's one of the worst things I've ever read on here. You should be ashamed of yourself and go and have a word with yourself. Criticise performances but that's disgusting

Criticise performances but that's disgusting Agree. Shocking statement to make. Lee hasn't had the best of seasons, but to wish a long term injury on one of our own players is very low. As for the game, we deserved the win. Tommo needs to have a word with himself. I've never seen a team get so many calls go their way (especially on the 1st) yet spend so much time moaning and whingeing at the ref. Thought Dimmen, Mosey and Macmillan were superb tonight. Swindlehurst and Lawrence also played well. Much needed win and great to see Wiikman back too.

Pretty good performance tonight, could've been a bigger win but could have just as easily, been a closer game. Steelers weren't bad at all, just a bit sloppy from time to time and struggled to cope with our quicker skaters. Our defence looked pretty solid for the most part, some horrific turnovers from time to time, mainly from Lee, Oakford did once from memory, causing the 3rd goal. But apart from that we looked great, Wiikman looked brilliant, some superb combination saves, unlucky to concede the 3rd.
Individual performances, best for me were Wiikman, Mosey and Clarke, Janssen played pretty well too, MacMillan, and Lawrence. The not so good performances from my seat came from Bohmbach, Moran (Understandable), Lacho, and of course, Lee. Bohmbach should hopefully ignigte once again when Schultz returns, Moran should be up to speed in the next week, and Lee, like Lacho, been quite poor of late but hopefully a turn of fortune is on the cards.
Special shoutout to Kolnik for his block on a Steelers slap shot, hit him straight in the abdomen, must've hurt but he stayed in the game!
Pleased with the game and result overall, Devils won again unfortunatley so they remain 5 points in front, whilst we remain with 3 games in hand, and 1 game in hand over Sheffield who we're 1 point ahead of after tonights victory.

With a thin number of D players, we need Mosey as the spare D man in case of injury and playing on the forward line. Then we can pull him back if we have a D injury. The D players we have will be icing lots of time and thats when more mistakes are made. A spare import won't go amiss at this time of the season, with a bit of a fixture pile up on the horizon.

Yep as much as lee hasnt been great this season (Understatement i know) i dont wish him injury however as for Roy hope he makes a miraculous recovery right after the play off finals. thomo and every single player moaning, well, it felt just like we were playing the blaze... Oh and as for 3rd turnover thought it was swindlehurst not oakford myself...

It was Oakford who turned it over for the goal - he looked right annoyed when he came off the ice to. It is understandable though given his lack of ice time recently that he will make a mistake or two, other than that I thought he played well.
I really liked Clarke's powerplay goal - more of that please! I've noticed that Tommo and his teams are always moaning too, at least he didn't have them play trap hockey when they went a goal behind like he did for the Blaze a few years ago, that still makes me chuckle.

It was a strange game really as when we went 5-1 up we seemed to take the foot of the gas and let Sheffield get back into it (Maybe they were thinking about the forthcoming fixtures coming up)
2 shots in the 3rd period is just not good enough (no matter what the score is, even though they should be a prize for guessing who got the other shot lol)
We need to be able to clear the puck out of our zone more effectively
Starting to think that Chris Lawrence has a doppelganger, as he seems to be different to the player we had last season as well as the player Coventry had.
Sheffield seemed to be moaning more than ever.

Criticise performances but that's disgusting Quite. Complete lack of judgement with that comment. I don't think Steve Lee has quite been the same player since that awful hit from Ryan O'Mara in January. Seems to have lost a bit of edge & confidence which is leading to errors. In 3 years watching the Panthers he has always been a consistent solid player giving away little and scoring some cracking goals & I'm sure he can return to this form but he needs our full support to do so, as do other players who may be struggling for form at times.

Cracking performance in the first two periods, some big performances that will convert into confidence and belief for some of the players, I don't want to blame Dan Green as we are lucky to have such a loyal and great back-up for netminder but you can see the confidence that the Panthers have when they know that Wiikman is in goal, he was superb in goal and without his saves, we could have lost today.
I feel like we got lucky on a couple of the goals today but considering we've probably hit the post over 10 times in the last 4 games, we were due some luck today and deserved the win. I hope Steve Lee recovers quick from his injury but glad to see other players getting their chance to shine, if Lee is injured for too long, he may not get back in the team if our other players step up to the plate.
