In terms of just quality.
Jinman of course should be in. And Mike Rees he was great. Gallant aswell but he wasnt here long.
Mark Richardson is also a no brainer.
Sean Mcaslan, Brendan Cook and Cameron Mann. All contending aswell.

Sometimes I really do wonder why we bother! To drive debate? It seems like 'The Cats Whiskers' is looking for comment. Agree? Disagree? What do you think? If you don't want comments why ask a question?

If you don't want comments why ask a question? No you’re right, a bit out of order from myself. Just got annoyed at the Dan Green comment which offered no semblance of debate. In hindsight it would perhaps have read better to ask people to listen to the podcast and then offer comments as there was plenty of debate between us as to who made the final cut.

I can think of two British back up goalies who in my opinion are both better than Dan Green.
Geoff Woolhouse and Sam Gospel.

Dan Green terrified me, I was as nervous as hell anytime he was in net and I thanked god after he hung up his skates. His last few seasons were just horrific, not just that last game in Sheffield, where we would have been better playing with an extra outskater.
I would have personally chosen either Woolhouse as a Brit or gone down the two import route and selected Galbraith who was pure quality in a really dire team.
I agree with the rest of the choices and my top three in no particular order would be DAB, Fox and Ling.

So the full squad as selected by The Cat's Whiskers team is as follows: Craig Kowalski Dan Green Steve Lee Danny Meyers Jonathan Weaver Corey Neilson Guillaume Lepine Jason Beckett Eric Werner Briane Thompson David Ling David-Alexandre Beauregard Jordan Fox David Clarke Matthew Myers Robert Farmer Brett Perlini Brandon Benedict Dan Tessier Jade Galbraith Bruce Richardson Cam Janssen Agree? Disagree? What do you think? Having listened to the podcasts and the justification on why certain players make the list and don't, I generally agree with the team selection. Having spent my lunch thinking about it, i'd make the following changes, rightly or wrongly. I appreciate if I spent a little longer thinking about it, i'd come up with a different team: Craig Kowalski Dan Green - Geoff Woolhouse For me, Woolhouse was the better back up overall, I felt he could win you a game more than Dan Steve Lee Danny Meyers Jonathan Weaver Corey Neilson Guillaume Lepine Jason Beckett Eric Werner Briane Thompson - Chris Murray Never saw Thompson play, I joined in the 05/06 season, I've included Murray, despite his short stint with the club, he was a solid addition to the blueline, put up some very good points (over a PPG), he could run the PP and was good defencively David Ling David-Alexandre Beauregard Jordan Fox David Clarke Matthew Myers Robert Farmer Brett Perlini Brandon Benedict Dan Tessier Jade Galbraith Cam Janssen Bruce Richardson - Brandon Cook Tough to leave Bruce out, but I feel the team is strong down the middle, (Tessier, Fox, Perlini/Benny & Myers) so by dumping Richardson, it allowed me to bring in Cook, who was a great goalscorer, 30 goal season with Panthers (& 40 with Clan) scored the big goals and was consistent, had some wheels, why we didn't get him back for a second season, I will never know.

Excuse my intrusion as a Steeler's fan, but I am astonished that Krajicek is not one of your defenders. To me he was a pleasure to watch and at 40 minutes per game put in the effort. Shame about his "mercenary" tendencies but I suppose most players are the same. What do you think?

Krajicek was certainly discussed but as a group we felt other denfencemen were more worthy of a place ahead of him.
