A new article written for the TCW website written by Steelers TV commentator Jonathan Fearnley about when and why the Panthers/Steelers rivalry changed. A very well written and thought provoking read. wp.me/P6zbpB-1bY

Interesting stuff, very good. So we have to wait for one of us to dominate (OK, it'll be them) for the rivalry to fire back up a bit.
I've always put it down to familiarity not breeding any contempt, but as pointed out that's nothing new.

Sheffield have dominated us since we won the league title though if you look at the honours won, 2 league titles and 2 playoff titles for them, whilst we have won 2 challenge cups and 1 playoff title in that time so I don’t really buy into that as being the reason as that is pretty dominant from them.
I think that the reason the rivalry doesn’t feel the same is because there isn’t that hatred between the players anymore, there are no characters on either team to wind each other up, nothing kicks off and there is hardly any emotion shown. It could be argued that the players are focused on winning the game but without that bit of spice it will never feel the same I don’t believe.

A new article for the website written by Jono Bullard who fears he has lost his care & passion for the Nottingham Panthers. Click on the link below. wp.me/P6zbpB-1bRYou're spot on with that article Jono. I feel exactly the same as you,in fact i have for the last two or three years and we both know we are certainly not alone. I've missed about ten home games this season, purely because i just couldn't be bothered any more and every one i could easily have gone to,there was nothing stopping me other than my own thoughts. My season ticket sat on the shelf in the kitchen and you know what, each time the Panthers lost,i just rolled my eyes and laughed like you did against Dundee. I've tried to stick with it,partly out of some weird sense of loyalty hoping my feelings might change, but they haven't and my season ticket is not being renewed next year. For the first time in 18 years i haven't bought a play off final weekend ticket either, partly because I'm not even sure Panthers will make it there, but mostly because i just don't feel the passion anymore, the passion i used to feel that it was MY team and they needed the support. My decision is finally made though and my last game will be the play off quarter final home game. Will i be back next year, certainly not as a regular fan, will i keep an eye on what's happening, yes i will, but whether i return in a year or two.....that is purely down to Panthers. They need to change their ways, the current regime stinks and if they do change, then maybe sometime in the future i may return.....until then !

Click on the link below. wp.me/P6zbpB-1bRA good article and similar to how I'm feeling(I'm clearly not alone in this). What I'd like to hear from the TCW guys(it's not a criticism by the way) is specifically what they would like to change. The word ethos can be quite a broad term and the TCW guys have been a bit cagey as to what they would like to change specifically, although admittedly I haven't listened to the last couple of podcasts so if this has been covered I apologise. Whether this is for fear of breaking down the relationship with the club by naming names I don't know.

Whether this is for fear of breaking down the relationship with the club by naming names I don't know. Exactly the point. Not that we are fed up with the game but fed up with the local presentation. Entertaining experiance as opposed to sports production on the ice.To be able to play in the CHL but then discount (when it was said we were laser focused) any interest in domestic competitions means to me the club are not bothered. Money over emdeavour....seen by way of other clubs making amends to squads as needed for best effect, when we only promise then don't deliver. People (that be loyal support and interested sports followers) are being hood -winked YET now we see the results as some leave/state anger. Maybe a trickle at present but highly damaging for the future years if it continues. Have your entertainment - we would rather strive to 'believe' and make passion mean passion but lately will only read up the results in the local paper. - added to my disinterest I've possibly made the descision to not warrant the effort to continue with the Cage's 'Fixtures' thread' next season. So the disactisfaction, though not the Cage's fault, has had this 'fever' from being bothered about the club spread to my involvement elsewhere.

That article is an accurate indication of how I, and many hundreds of others, are feeling about the Steelers. I have never experienced such apathy either on here or on Steeltalk. After almost 25 years I am done with it until things change! The sterile games, boring presentation, the shouting mouthpiece, the useless Coaches, only there because of one man's influence, and the contempt for the fan base. The problem I have is that I might lose the "habit" and never get it back. Nil desperandum Jonno or you'll turn into me!

Add another one to the list. A season tickets holder for 15 years + but i've missed so many games this year as i just couldn't be bothered to make the effort anymore.

Thank god it’s almost all over. Next year new coach, I suspect a whole new team and a new main sponsor too. But I bet it’s still business as usual.

Good article that. Been feeling the same for years . I just hope Moran has noticed it or someone in the front office.
I've set foot in that lifeless arena twice since December 27th and they were only cause I came with my wife!
Don't miss it at all. Until they start taking competing and trying to win seriously I ll take them seriously... as Iggy says "until then " ... 👋
