Just to note from the main domestic league season
Robert Farmer (British player of the year) completes this season as Nottingham's highest recipient of Pim's totaling 170 minutes and FIFTH overall in the LEAGUE this season. Chris Lawrence was the 18th top points scorer with 52. Craig Kowalski was the Leagues 2nd best net minder (behind Josh Unice of Sheffield) with a SAVE % of 92.2 as with Brian Stewart of Coventry.AND a GA ave total of 2.20 (2nd overall).....

Credit to Coventry for adapting to the two referee (if that's what we got) system over the weekend. One guy moans at one ref, another guy is bending the other ref's ear and sometimes there was even someone else ready to carry on. Quite what they found to complain about was beyond me.

Do not know about Sundayas I did not go, but the officiating on Saturday was an embarrassment - I have watched Rugby and there the ref rules, players argue with him yes but once he has told them to stop they stop - just why we get Hicks (who has to be the worst ever) nearly every match heaven knows - someone ought to send a game DVD to the league and complain

Though I didn't go to the second leg I went to the first and the officials were an absolute disgrace Hicks is a clown and always have been and bottled everything. The four official system works in the NHL but they have been doing it for years.
I was at the game on Saturday, They missed 7-10 blatant calls and right in front of them, and how we didn't get at least one penalty shot over the weekend is beyond me. Saturday was stone cut call and they bottled it. I believe not just the refs should make the calls but the linemen too. Grahams call on Stewart was a joke Stewart half the time looked like a flopping fish.
All season it seems that other teams have received special treatment from Refs. Although its the same old crap from them and no consistency. For example Modig's stick got stuck under the net he tried to tell the ref and got called for delay of game for retrieving his stick. Puck went under the side of the net and the refs let the goal stand. It is time to bring in video technology and European referees and should have a system where the refs only ref the same two teams twice per season for example Hicks only refs Panthers Vs Sheffield twice all season.

We got the same number of PP opportunities as Coventry on Saturday & Sunday (5 & 3). If they called everything that our crowd wanted called, we'd be on a 60 minute powerplay every night.
It was Parent on Stewart, and while he made a meal of it (as all netminders make a meal of everything), can anyone say 100% Max didn't get his stick in there?
We had a euro ref over here for a few games, he was widely panned for being worse than ours.

You KNOW that the puck went in the side of the goal? The video didn't show it so a video ref couldn't have helped. Also Modig didn't get called for "retrieving his stick" he got called for pushing the net off its moorings. Sorry but the whole "refs are crap" thing really grinds my gears, like it or not they do know the rules better than the fans. I watched Devils v Giants last night as a neutral and guess what? Couldn't see anything wrong with the refs but the fans could be heard giving them stick.

It's all down to the officials as to why we've sucked for the past two seasons.

The stripies (and I include Linos as well as refs) do not score goals - the players do, or should do - they do not save goals either - that is down to the defence and the Nettie - However they can affect the way the game is played - I am sure that every fan in the land has complained at some time or other on a wrong call - some are right and some are wrong - and I am also sure that many fans will agree that there is a great deal of inconsistency between game to game and official to official. Under the present set-up nothing will change, it was like it in the days of Hanson & Carson - it is all well and good telling the players to play according to the officials traits, but they also change from week to week - they have tried Foreign refs but if anything they were worse - until the officials are properly trained and given proper guidelines then we will just have to put up with games being spoilt by those who think we are there to see them and not the players - the more we moan the worse they seem to get - as a neutral I will see what happens this week-end - I will not hold my breath for impartiality.

We had a euro ref over here for a few games, he was widely panned for being worse than ours. Good point, the Euro ref I witnessed didn't have the first idea. The only game I recall us being ripped by a ref was Darnell against Dundee when he completely lost the plot. Other than that we plain stink as a team.
