Your right Bolts but.....the point some people are making is correct too, face offs are crucial, because come the close margin big game finals later in the season,it will cost a team in the end when they lose a crucial face off in their own end late in a game and end up conceding from the loss of possession. Don't get me wrong I understand the importance but at times it's like people just look for negatives for the sake of it!!

Game winner is well worked, all started off by Bruce winning the faceoff. Makes setting up the play so much easier.
Surely the 5 v 4 favoured Sheffield as that's easier to defend than 4 v 3? Oh well, it worked out well in the end.

Losing too many face offs is a valid point, as is the constant stream of turnovers from defence and forwards alike and the inability to clear the zone. Two excellent wins against Sheffield in the festive games changes nothing about any of those points as far as I'm concerned.
We did very well to get the win on Saturday. Overall I don't think our performance merited the two points as it was littered with basic mistakes and we still lacked a player to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and turn things around. However, the team deserves a lot of credit for their spirit and persistence. They kept battling for the full 60 minutes and were rewarded with an excellent equaliser, followed up by an even better winner in OT. Steelers will feel like they were robbed but ultimately they didn't establish enough of a lead to kill off the game and paid the price for that. Besides, they have robbed us enough times over the years. Nice to see Landry get a crucial goal, and you could see his absolute delight at scoring it. He's been one of our best performers so far this season, albeit normally for his solid but unspectacular defensive work.
Hopefully the two wins will give the players confidence to go on a run of victories to get us back up towards the top of the table. There are still issues with the balance of the squad, especially with Clarke now out for the season, but that is a matter for the coach - all you can ask of the players is that they go out there and give 100% and despite lacking quality they certainly did that in both Christmas matches.

Still not sure how Sheffield got away with the Farmer, Hill and Baldwin scuffle.

Still not sure how Sheffield got away with the Farmer, Hill and Baldwin scuffle. Same here, especially having watched it again and listened to how David Clarke described it on commentary.
