It's a proper hissy fit on Steeltalk. People saying they won't attend the games if they don't get the 2nd leg at home. It's person rather than people and that would be me. I will have to take the afternoon off work and I'm fairly sure my mates won't be interested for a first leg game, so I suspect it's unlikely that I will be in attendance. Having finished top of the group I thought this time we might actually get the home leg second.....silly me. Regards Doom

I think the EIHL are more digestive biscuit eaters than the magnificence of Hobnobs to be honest.

That Steeltalk thread is absolute comedy gold. Toys right out of the pram ? It doesn't trouble me but, I rather think it would be exactly the same on here if the positions were reversed. Or do you disagree Jono?

Regards Doom It seems a bit nuts having to play 8 games essentially to determine who gets the home seed for the QF, then throw it out the window there after. What real incentive (besides team momentum perhaps) is there now to go out and do well in your CC group? Win 2 or 3 games and you're dandy now it would seem.

Sheffield won and got an easy tie against a struggling Dundee team and won 14-1. We came 3rd and were up against a solid fife flyers team. That's your incentive. The CC draw was the thing that determind the legs and venues.

Obviously understand how it works, just found it strange (& unprofessional) that it wasn't mentioned before hand, should have been said at the start of the season at least. Then again we all know it's sadly not the first time something like this has happened.

Indeed it seems like things are not do transparent at the start. But you can't have it all. More concerns regards the uneven league I think....opps soz. The Cup round robin initial stage, as much as I hate it too, also gets rid of a team before the quarters start.

Still no confirmation of when both of these semi-final legs will take place...other than the date Gary announced and he is very quiet on that front.. Steelers were to announce it by Sunday or Monday but still nothing.. Normally pushing us to buy the tickets by now....especially when the Play Off tickets will soon be going on sale...

Both arenas very busy and schedule is already packed. Sheffield have just had to move a Cardiff game due to an arena event. They'll get it sorted one way or another

Looking at the dates Sheffield may as well stay down in Notts that week as they play Panthers the previous Saturday too.

Wouldn't they be in the wrong city for the 2nd game?

So the bottom team in the Erhardt conference beats the top team in the Gardiner conference, meaning 4 Erhardt conference teams in the semis and 0 Gardiner conference teams. Do we go "there" again? EDIT: So we are, in a different thread. Sorry!

EDIT: So we are, in a different thread. Sorry! Any team on any given day can win this year, for example we were hammered 6-1, at home, by Hull ... I assume that Finnerty made a grave error last night and went out to defend the lead after going ahead 4-1, from reading the comments it was the worse Clan performance this year. This could be a season defining moment for them tbh, do they knuckle down and win the league or do they hit a bad patch and start to lose a few more games!

I can't be doing with any more "yes but Panthers lost to Fife" posts You don't need to worry about that, since you say that's a pointless argument I've made, then by your own logic Clan's loss last night is also equally pointless in the Conference debate. We got an early goal last night and stopped playing after that until we went 3-1 down, by then it was too late to do something meaningful about it. So congrats to the Blaze taking advantage on the night, and putting in a much needed good shift. Disappointed to see how heavy the schedules have became for the clubs who have made the Semi-Finals, it seems to be a tradition each year now that there has to be some sort of farce required for this competition. I'd be all for making the first 8 games of the season CC only, getting rid of the QF stage, and having the Final 1st weekend of December in a neutral venue.
