All but 1 of the last 5 seasons and we have largely capitulated in the league after xmas and that shouldn't be ignored.... But you're forgetting that in 1 in 5 of those seasons he WON that league title. That one thing that no other Panthers coach, experienced or not, had done since 1956.

Your first paragraph clearly says to me you have not understood the post, but just put your own interpretation on it I don't mind. Interesting. As you were not the author of the OP, how do I know you didn't understand it? And if I didn't, it was probably because it was ambiguously phrased? So I had to "interpret" it? Anyway, the last bit above I'm half agreeing with the OP.

Indeed. Are you not pantherdman? It was that post ( to paraphrase "give me the job and we'll be competitive more than 1 in 5 seasons after Christmas") I was commenting on? Angry dolphins, it seems.

I must admit, I was a bit surprised to see Norton sat warming the bench for the entire game yesterday. We were 2 (Benedict and Boxill) forwards down and apparently have 2 or 3 forwards playing injured. Yet, we have another forward (Loyns) playing on D while Norton warms the bench. We had 6 D including Norton and before Lee went off injured. Even without Lee, we didn't see Norton on the ice. All seems a bit odd to me. Completely agree Ted .... From whence I've made observations on face-offs, Loyns has been our greatest face-off winner. Norton has also been prety steady on D, and even scored a couple of blue-liners iirc. As you say, seems a bit odd (unless Norts is carrying an injury that he wants to avoiding risking, ... unless absolutely necessary?) It's ridiculous the way Norton has been treated hasn't done anything wrong and puts in 110% effort every game IMO. Unfortunately I know he isn't injured. I don't think it's all Corey either because if you look at the bench rick looks like he runs the D. Nevertheless it's stupid seeing a Brit with so much potential being treated like it

There is a genuine point here and relates to how u percieve success..if u werent to win the cc or playoffs then by panthers standards that is significant failure..now takng into account the injuries..euro cup run..I would still expect a panthers side to get much closer to the giants in the league..going by some posts it would also seem that there is often a malaise about some players..has Corey gone as far as he can with last year? is there the same hunger? thats the questions id be asking him..maybe a new coach would be of benefit?

Is this thread for real? I just don't know how you can begin to justify the opinion that Neilson has had his day.

Is it a failure? Or would it be the kick back down to earth that it appears some people need. We are a very competitive team and are one of the best 3 in the the league however, teams changes rosters each season and with this comes success and failures. I wouldn't strike this season off as a 'failure'. Belfast have proved their worth and even with not winning a trophy id still have 100% faith in every decision Corey AND Rick make.

I just don't know how you can begin to justify the opinion that Neilson has had his day. 25-18-7 and 14 wins back from the lead in a 52 game season is a reasonable justification for asking the question, IMO. I don't think he should go, but with the notable exception, he's often struggled to put together the league challenge. id still have 100% faith in every decision Corey AND Rick make. Really? 100%? There have been some very odd decisions made this year.

Obviously as fans we can only speculate on decisions that we don't understand but I trust them to make the decisions they think are necessary

This season has been a train crash. We could end up with a less than .500 league campaign. When was the last time that happened? As frustrating and as bad as it's been, we've still got a Cup Final to go - massive Underdogs admittedly but still in with a chance of trophy. I've not enjoyed this one on the whole - not just for the results but for the lacklustre, dull peformances of late. For the first time ever I can't wait for the season to end. Having said that, chalk it down to experience and next season is a new page. No question in my mind that CN stays but looking for a massive improvement on league performance next season please coach. Indeed. Are you not pantherdman? It was that post ( to paraphrase "give me the job and we'll be competitive more than 1 in 5 seasons after Christmas") I was commenting on? Angry dolphins, it seems. I'd never come across that 'angry dolphin' expression before so had to Google it. Err.......intersting, especially the one eyed version. Is there another meaning bobness?

If we win Nothing this season, finish below .500 and you are still 100% behind Corey staying for life. You are the reason.

You are the reason. you love the OTT stuff who said he has a job for life then, however getting rid of the coach who has the most wins for us after a train wreck of a season, is so knee jerk shortsightedness that i am beginning to think yours is a parody account.

Should Corey go? Idiocy at it's finest there, most successful coach, unreal season last year, trophies and accolades galore and he can put a team together, this year out team on paper should have done more, the players haven't delivered and we've been hit bad with injuries, next season the bigger budget will be back and we'll have a brand new team ready to own the league like last time out. That's my view

Which is why i thought it strange to announce his re-signing. I'm sure they said last year he was on a longer deal and I just took it as set in stone that he would be here. Stability is the answer as we have learned over the last few years, cant imagine him being anywhere else.

I take it as a conformation from the club that, although things haven't gone to plan this season, we are sticking by our coach. That's all
