The league is the clubs isn't it? Doesn't Gary attend the meetings where they decide stuff like Moray being in charge of discipline? Everyone's baffled by the stuff they've put in place?
Given the Henley interview yesterday and now this, I think the DJ best queue up "Out ta Get Me" by GnR for the skate out on Sunday.

Well be has a few good points there.
No doubt the ABP brigade will scream "sour grapes" though, regardless of the points he raises affecting all teams.

I mean seriously its not like our GM has called the integrity of the referees into question or anything is it. I can imagine anyone who would do that.....

Anything else from him on women's hockey?

I didn't think it was a fair hit, from behind and high from where i sit. Moran said it was a blindside hit. I havent seen the video, to me it looked to high in real time.

I thought at the time it was an OK hit, although I'd need to see it again - in my memory of it there's no way you'd call it a blindside hit but maybe I'm remembering it wrong.

Dont know, it happened very fast. Interesting that GM is suggesting there should be a ban based on the injuries. I think thats a fairly weak case.

I don't think he's saying the injuries mean there should be a ban, he's saying than the response from the review was that no damage had been caused and GM just stated that Jacina had a black eye and his helmet had broken. But it kinda supports the idea that the result of the hit should be at least considered.

Well it's all principle point of contact as Shanaban would say, the hit could've been to the chest but contact after the initial collision could've been to the face (as an example, not saying that did happen). The hit isn't on the released highlights on YouTube so difficult to examine it further.
Regarding taking injury into consideration, I do think it should be considered to a point. I'm not for a ban the player for as long as the guy is out, but the consequence of the action can point to the severity of the action, as it does in real life.

This league is getting softer by the year.
If Fata hit Jacina illegally and the ref failed to call anything why didn't Henley, Oreskovic, Salters or Jacina go for Fata?

Henley was sat in the stands for a start. Ok, the other 3? Simple answer is, nobody thought it was an illegal check and neither did I. It happened right in front of me and I thought it was a good solid check and would have been proud of one of our guys doing it.

Henley was sat in the stands for a start. Ok, the other 3? Pretty sure it was 2-1 to us at this point? Not sure it's worth losing a player for

Depends who was on the ice at the time I guess, not sure if Salters or Oreskovic were on at the time? If not then I'd say Fata got away with one, fair hit or not. He laid one of our guys out. Lepine was asked to dance for his hits on Rob Globke, Jason Silverthorn and Sean Scarborough. Fata's been getting away with stuff against us since he got here. Really is long overdue a good slap.

Im happy that Gary Moran has had the guts to speak out about this and respect him for doing so but does anyone else think there have been plenty of unfair decisions against Panthers in the past that have just been accepted without saying anything? Im thinking something has only been said this time because of Panthers under performance recently and on the whole, most of this season. To me, Steelers always seem to get their way in EIHL reviews and getting players from other clubs banned and yet their players have got off scot free on a number of occasions. I remember being told that someone involved in the Steelers management also has close ties to the EIHL management? I forget the name now, maybe someone else can shed more light on this?

Tony Smith who owns the Steelers is chairman of the league. But that's the point isn't it, there is no "Elite League"? It's just the clubs, there's no independent body? If the system is rubbish, why don't all the confused managers change it at one of their meetings?

Good on gm, finally saying what we've been saying all season. The video review system is bogus and utterly stupid, clubs shouldn't decide what gets reviewed, the refs should put incidents on report if they see fit.
I agree the 2 refs were much better aka they didn't call any penalties.

Just seems a bit dodgy to me, i was always suspicious that Steelers seemed to get decisions in their favour most the time even before i was told Tony Smith had connections to them and the EIHL! I know the EIHL don't have a great reputation for being the most professionally run league but when you have an owner of a club also the Chairman of the League!? Seems suspect to me.

I love to kick Steelers as much as anyone but..... Neil Black has also held the position of Chairman of the EIHL too.
