Salters has taken 110 PIM in 51 games, Henley has 212 in 30. Salters clearly has the self control that Henley lacks. Of the 59 PIM Smith has recently dished out to him, 30 came straight from Brent's mouth, 25 came from him spearing Tanaka at a faceoff (guilty, by most accounts) and just 4 came from in-play penalties, 1 minor per game. Getting a single minor penalty per game would seem a fair return for a defenceman of his size I would think? If Henley can't see that the issue is between his ears and his lack of a pressure release valve, then he might as well jack it in and go home quite frankly. The refs are what they are, they're not much use for any of the players, but other players aren't blowing a gasket every time they're on the end of a duff call. Nail on head there yotes

Come on folks how about getting off Henley's back here. He has harshly been called on to many minor calls through this season. Quite frankly its beyond a joke. For god sake he is a 6ft 7inch D-Man. I have been to enough games this season to see Henley in the box for the softest calls some he didn't deserve. Take sheffield for example, they just ran into him and he got called for a elbows.
Henley was brought in this season to protect his team mates and to some extent he has I know he has a short fuse every now and then but don't all enforcers? . Injuries have hit us hard this season and I for one hope he comes back next season.
one thing that HAS to change is the referee Systems. Hicks is a disgrace. Apparently I heard from a reliable source is that Andy Carson is going to be the ref for the C Cup final both legs so where has he been all season.
Anyway that is my honest opinion

I'm not saying he should have been banned for what he did to Frank but he got a 3 game ban IIRC for what he did to Spencer and no further action for a very similar incident with Frank. I believe he was ejected on a 5+G in both games for "excessive roughing".
Just highlights a massive inconsistency with the EIHL disciplinary procedure. No wonder players/coaches/GM's/fans get so frustrated with the whole set-up.

Any player who persists in continuing or attempting to continue a fight or altercation after he has been ordered by the Referee to stop, or who resists a Linesman in the discharge of his duties shall, at the discretion of the Referee, incur a misconduct or game misconduct penalty in addition to any penalties imposed.

Fighting After the Original Altercation

A game misconduct penalty shall be imposed on any player who is assessed a major penalty for fighting after the original altercation has started.

Notwithstanding this rule, at the discretion of the Referee, the automatic game misconduct penalty may be waived for a player in the altercation if the opposing player was clearly the instigator of the altercation.
Whichever way you look at it; this is very inconsistent. Henley v Spencer - Match penalty and 2 match ban Henley v Frank - Game penalty and no ban

Hicks is a "disgrace"? On what grounds is that, then? And if Carson refs the CC Final I shall be very surprised and disappointed, given that he hasn't reffed a game all season. It'd be a very poor decision from the EIHL if so. We'll see how reliable your source is, I guess.

I guess having a word via the Evening Post works Amazed he didn't get something for that, considering how he keeps going once the linos are in.

Exactly - they seemed to get in and stop him once but Henley then started again, so they had to stop him for a second time. Frank deserves a good slap of course, but i actually think this was worse than the Spencer incident if anything

The obsession some Belfast fans have with Panthers is quite laughable given many Panthers fans can offer up little in the way of such passion the other way. The seeming desperation to have someone to 'hate' and have it returned is puzzling. Perhaps there is something in the water over there.

A lot still harbour animosity stemming from something that Niekar did a few years ago. Before my time so I have no idea.

Yes its very much a Nieckar thing - Giants fans will quote it at you as if it happened yesterday too. Their dislike of the 'Panfas' om the Kingdom re-emerges from time to time and it seems to give some (not all by any means) of their fans something to bond with. It won't be any different in 10 years time. There will always be a minority fans who thrive on negativity.

I'm unaware of the problem discussing Henley's hilarious and groundless presumptions? As for "Giants obsession".. I don't see a problem with that. We are quite aware it is unrequited.. But so what?

Do they boo Adey every game then, given he put the players on the ice? I'm not sure if they boo him but there were some fairly choice comments on KOTG when he was appointed in the summer. "Awful appointment" "Never forgive" "Terrible, terrible appointment" "NFNF" "His shirt has been retired and he'll be coaching us, seriously." "I'm sorry but no, if 30 people applied then there are 29 better suited" "That man as our coach" "Captain Custard" "Never forgive, never forget" "Stench of custard" "Stink of his past existence" "Dirty custard with a poor CV" A funny bunch.....

I bet they all love him now though right? Definitely - Judging by the constant drone of "Adey is a Giant" being bellowed around Bolero Square after the last game. Do you think they sing that at all the away venues? Nah, doubt it
