Very strange, I quiet like Joe playing for Panthers. Whats the bet on him signing somewhere else this season or next ...

Really didn't see this one coming Well i guess that's decided who gets the last import slot when they're all fit then:- Kowalski Green Henley Werner Weaver/Norton Murray Grimaldi Lee Lachowicz Francis Salters Ryan Loyns Clarke Kalus Benedict Farmer Boxill Does seem a bit sudden and a bit strange

Not sure what to make of this really. If its true he has "retired" then I assume he's gone now to take up a job elsewhere, normally thats what the club would say anyway.
This just seems mysetrious, I reckon he will end up at another team.
Not at all happy that he has left us even shorter benched with all the injuries etc.

Another player that didn't really live up to expectations.

Judicious use of quotation marks suggests the Panthers don't quite believe Joe's explanation. Shame, he was a good player. But if he's not happy then fair's fair.

This has got to be one of the strangest seasons. Guess it could have come a few weeks earlier and that would have been a real kick in the teeth.

Maybe he's just had enough... and being here is not what he expected. On a side note I wonder how many players arrive in the UK and find that playing here is harder than they thought? (not saying that this is the reason for leaving)

I'm guessing this explains why he missed training yesterday then.

The tone of Panthers press release seems they were just as surprised as the rest of us. Will be interesting to see if he goes on to sign elsewhere.

Joe started off well but then went off the boil in my opinion.
There has to be more to this, it's just we'll probably not find out what it is!

So once Conway leaves we are back at 11 imports with Saari as a spare.
Just have to hope that we've got all of our injury bad luck out of the way and can have a good run to the play-offs.

I have to say i quite like balance that we are left with, which includes the 4 import-D. It's just the timing that is not ideal.

Could be a blessing in discuise, also Corey wont have to make a tough decision as to who to cut.

I'd expect a few more 'retirements' and another signing or two

I'm afraid I'm being quite suspicious about this. I can't see why he's done it now. Why specifically now has he retired? He's injury free and earning money on a team that do need him. It's not like LaCosta who retired for the sake of his health.
Maybe Corey was planning on releasing him (in my eyes he would be the import to release when everyone is back) and he wasn't happy? Who knows but this is definitely more than just "oh ill retire now"...

Still only 30. Assuming he really does intend to retire, you would think he would have an alternate job lined up. We'll see I guess. It certainly does look a somewhat suspicious though, and right now I'd align myself to the 'theres more to this than we know about' brigade.
