No, we'd be quite rightly asking the league if they'd like to take a look at a questionable play and decide if any further action is warranted. No we wouldn't. As has been proven time and time again this season. I think thats because it could benefit our rivals so we dont bother. This situation is a shambles and a bad hit is a bad hit regardless of who will be banned and who may benefit

Another point is that Cardiff should have dealt with it at the time. If Marsh had hit Lacho like that I would fully expect a Salters, Murray or Lee to be straight after him.

The sorting it out on the ice thing is the way to handle matters definitely. Having said that, how many times do you see lino's jumping in way to quickly to break things up before they even start? Causes even more problems IMO.
As for Jensen - can't find a defence for him really; deserves his ban.

I don't think there was any malicious intent, he lines his shoulder up with Davies' but then he jumps to get more power in the hit which means his shoulder goes above Davis' and so he hits him in the head. It is a check to the head, he didn't have to jump. Had he not, I would have no doubt it would have been a clean hit.
People who are discussing inconsistency, is that caused by the officals as much as it caused by us not asking for incidents to be reviewed as other teams are? Did we ask for the hit to be reviewed from the Edinburgh game for example?

Either review every game or review nothing.
Give the officials the chance to put incidents on report, not the owners who should have nothing to do with it.

Have you been to any games this season or are you one of those that goes and reads a book while the game is going on. Sheesh. The incidents have been debated over and over on here and on THF. What Pantherdman said above is spot on - review all or none. This "system" of tittle tattling is ridiculous.

I don't read, although I do put my glasses on while watching though. It helps me not to see things in a subtle shade of light pink. Which incidents then? And your reasonable suggestion as to how exactly we review all of every game? Or do we go for "anything goes" on the ice? Sheesh...

The other problem with the current review system is that it is reliant upon something that isn't reliable, this being the quality of the footage available to use for reviews.
At some venues full HD, multi-angle footage is available whereas at others it seems the footage is recorded by a bloke sitting half way up the block on the red line using his 1st gen smart phone.
How can consistency of reviews be ensured when the method of collecting evidence for said reviews is so variable?

And yes, if there's going to be a review system EACH game should be reviewed IN FULL.

Harvey on Kwall? Seriously? Our players' reactions told all for that "hit". Nothing. And he was back out for the shootout, IIRC. As for the other 2, not sure what you mean. Capital? Francis vs Riga? ?? Talking of capitals, no need to shout... And the key word I mentioned was "reasonable". Not sure Mr Hanson could review 20+ hours of hockey every week minute by minute. That's why we have the review system... It's not the NHL you know. God knows, we get reminded every week by people whinging about the refs.

The Capital i.e. The player who plays for the Capitals. i.e. if someone players for Panthers they'd be The Panther.
And chill out a bit, you called me out, I responded. I'm sick and tired of seeing players getting banned as a result of complaints by the opposition. Leave the officiating to the officials.

Calm down, tiger. I'm thoroughly relaxed, drinking a scotch, watching Ripper Street. (Well, it's paused now, but you know what I mean...)
Jensen and Makela got caught out, like it or not. (Talking of that, is there any publicly available footage of the Makela incident anywhere?) I'd be sick of players getting away with serious infractions of the laws of the game if I was the opposition. The boot will be on the other foot before the season is out, I'd like to bet. There has to be a bit of both. The point re consistency of footage is also a very valid one. The league has to cut its cloth according to its finances. Personally I think Hanson's been excellent this year. It's been a quantum leap forward in terms of transparency.

Chris Frank picks up a one game ban today for his second stick related offence of the season. Obviously he would have been expecting that because everyone knows that rule don't they? Don't they??

So he misses the game against us?? yes he does and from looking at the video of the incident I cant believe that a x-check to face of Chaimbelain only gets a 5+game upon review and only gets a ban because its his second stick related 5+game.

BigLad, Jenson clearly jumps into the hit both skates are of the ice, and the devils like the panthers dont going crying to the league for reviews, we usually end up worse off!! when conboy took a keefe blindside cheapshot to the head and was spark out before he hit the ice, keefe got 3 games conboy got 6 for skating into/abusing a lino in scotland!!.

Slightly bemused by the apparent inconsistency of Moray Hanson in dealing with supplementary discipline - Jensen gets reviewed almost immediately, and is banned from the following night, yet Nickerson's Match penalty from last night's game v Braehead, 'will be reviewed by head of discipline Moray Hanson and the findings will be announced shortly.' according to the Elite League OS.
Double standards for English & Scottish teams - just asking?

Fife wasnt playing today whereas Jenson was due to play against the Capitals the following day so there was a need to get a decision made quickly. I would assume we will hear something tomorrow.

Fair enough Dreadface - that explains a lot, but Moray obviously has the capacity to virtually instantly review Match Bans - there is only a maximum of 5 games going on any night, so why not use the same immediacy for all, whether they are playing the next day or not?

I couldnt answer that, but I I'd rather him review incidents thoroughly than be rushed.
