All things considered, both look like decent signings.
Jensen put up good numbers in Italy, playing alongside Mr Ling and a few current EIHLers for awhile.
Interestingly it also seems hockey runs fairly deep in his family's blood, with lots of other Jensen family members having played at various notable levels.
Conway looks to be a fairly good 'fill in' pick up too, given the time of season.

Maybe this will some of the players the kick up the ass they need. Once werner and Henley are back im sure someone will have to go unless Anderson has something lined up after his 3 months is up.
Great to see that we have cover for kwall too, thats a very difficult position to cover for.

Great stuff. This is more like it! Add Farmer to this lot and we will be looking pretty strong.
Hopefully have them all firing on all cylinders in time for Italy.

Good news. Whilst I am happy to have Saari on the books for emergencys he is cleary not an import quality player, highlighted by the lack of ice time he has been getting. He has played 9 games so far and to me means thats 9 games we've effectively played an import short. This is something I think has been over looked by some when reviewing the teams performances. It has been difficult to consistantly play the same lines with Capraro missing 4 games, Ryan 3 & Lyons 1(From elite league stats, games played).
Should improve the team & when all are fit competition for places is allways a good thing in my view.

I suspect that these moves, especially Jensen, have been signed with the continental cup in mind.
However I agree, the existing roster needs to perform as I think Corey has sent out a message that they are not indispensible!

Agree that both look good signings, but you have to wonder what is going wrong with hockey in Italy, with so many players having arrived on the EIHL scene this year from 'la bella Italia'? Suspect it's down to money at the end of the day!

Jensen looks good. His numbers are very similar to the recent Steelers signing, Sirianni. I know a certain team came under fire recently for bringing in injury cover and new players, but if you have the means to do it, then I see no reason why you shouldn't.

Sheffield didn't come under fire for doing it they came under fire because they are still trying to delude the fans by peddling the same crap about not spending a lot on the player budget when they clearly are.

Steelers looked at Jensen the same time they looked at Ling? Hopefully, they'll regret it just as much. Especially given they are struggling to score at the moment. Jensen will be top drawer, I'd think. May indeed have the side effect of putting a rocket up a couple of players. Does indeed makes you wonder why players like Jensen, Anderson and Sirianni are available from Italy having seemingly not been playing this year?

Nice to see we are preparing for Craig to be out, good planning from Corey and co. Wonder who Jensen will play in place of?

interesting to see that in 06/07 ECHL All star game he won the fastest skating award. no mean feat that, lets hope hes still got similar wheels on him 7 years later on, im thinking along the same speed as Rob Bellamy had, hopefully.

Jensen looks a very good signing - hopefully his arrival will have the desired effect. We're not far off right now, maybe he will have the Kelsey Wilson factor and prove to be the missing link. Smart move by CN to identify what's missing the past 2 seasons and recruit accordingly. Last season we were clearly missing a physical presence amongst the forwards (whereas this season Salters fulfils that role) and we bagged Wilson. This season we seem to be lacking a 'high numbers' free scoring import forward and we've snagged Jensen. Be interesting to see who misses out when Jensen plays? www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=11719

Ryan/Capraro? Cant see Franny/Loyns/Wren/Benedict or Salters being left out

Think it may be Matt Ryan. I hope not. I would play Ryan over Capraro any day of the week. Capraro along with Wren have been the two main let downs for me.

Bob Wren for me, came with a great resume, and hasnt really done much to impress me so far. yes makes some good passes, but not nearly as consistently as we would hope. maybe leaving him out will give him a kick up the backside, plus i thought he was meant to be more of an agitator than he is?

Or maybe Jensen could be Wren's Bruce Graham? Dont forget that early last season even David Ling was a slow starter!

Ryan has been the biggest let down for me so far. Capraro is as good as I was expecting (On a par with Galivan, maybe slightly better).
After I couple of games I thought Ryan might have hands like Fox, unfortunately he is playing more like Marek Ivan than Jordan Fox in my eyes.
I would consider
Jensen Wren Clarke
Salters Francis Lacho
Benedict Loyns Capraro

I'm not sure about Benedict and Loyns on the same line. I think we'll drop Ryan or Capraro, I'd then have the following:-
Benedict Wren Clarke - hopefully Wren feeds the sniper (Clarke) much the same as Ling fed Graham last year with Benedict on that line Salters Francis Lacho - see no reason to change this Jensen Loyns Capraro/Ryan
Alternativley, another school of thought is that Francis & Lacho have such good chemistry, they could team up with anybody on that line. So if that succesful line were to be broken up, you could maybe look at switching Salters for Jensen or Capraro/Ryan.
A nice problem for the coach to have though.

Funny, isn't it? Ryan's star is on the rise for me, Capraro's on the wane (but he's been injured). Wren has had a slow start, to put it kindly. But so did Ling....
Something will happen, I bet....
