I reckon he is Sheffield bound and he will be useless for them, purely due to Finnertys coaching I wouldnt rule out Steelers. Apparently it was suggested the job ad we saw recently is likely to be them, his cv fits perfect, Dannys there, and he's out of work. Not so sure he would fail under Finnerty either - as well as being the prolific goal-scorer whilst with us, he also worked hard every shift. Not someone I'd want to see in a Steelers shirt.

Given the plight the Clan are in with imports currently, I wouldn't be surprised to see DAB team up with Galbraith again!

If we release gallivan and he is a character in the changing room it could cause unrest but.. DAB is the real deal

Run an extra import. Come the new year there's bound to be injuries or something.

Bring him in as an assistant coach...but have him registered to play too.

Try to use English. On the subject of DAB. Recruit from a position of strength! Get him in. It would be a miracle if we do not get any injuries to imports for the rest of the season and DAB is a proven sniper, grafter and big game player.

Bring him in as an assistant coach...but have him registered to play too. That's almost as bad as running with the spare import, the games Corey Neilson played after he came back from injury proved that although he is fit he isn't MATCH fit and the same would figure with Beau or anyone else on the team for the matter, if you're not getting regular games, you're not keeping match fit. I don't think having a rotation system works either, we've played out best hockey since palming the spare man off to Braehead and everyone's been able to play regular games and gel. (A side note is that I hope Corey stays behind the bench, like he promised!) The Beau era is over, we've got a great team lets not allow ourselves to get nostalgic for players past, if we're going to do that we might as well start a campaign to re-sign Galbraith! (Not that I want him back you understand!) While I'm on the subject, I can also see Beau linking back up with Jade, with how the Clan are looking at the moment Krestanovich would be mad to not, at least, make enquiries. They have less skaters than a mid-week Caps team which is just ridiculous!

If it was Sammi I'd say yes to bringing him into the team , but I think we have seen the best of Bo and as been said before the team seem to be getting it together and when Lee returns Fox can move up front again ( if he wants to )

I love DAB as a player, but as everyone's saying, don't fix what ain't broke. If tomorrow, Graham/Galivan/Ling etc breaks their foot or is long term injured in some way, Corey needs to pick up the phone straight away. But I've never been a fan of having spare imports, because it's inevitably one player who sees almost no ice time (remember poor Toneys?) and causes friction as to who gets dropped. As far as I'm concerned, we have a spare import in Corey. Two is too many, even if it is DAB.
Would not be surprised to see him at Braehead though. And I have no doubt he'll make us suffer.

and I am sure there would be a huge wage demand difference compared to Galivan

and I am sure there would be a huge wage demand difference compared to Galivan A). I don't see why there would be much of a difference. B). Panthers make loads and loads of money so it wouldn't really matter. If they wanted to resign him they could definitely afford it. He has been playing in the CHL not the NHL. C). I would not cut anyone either. Just sign him as an extra. Wouldn't mind another import D as well. Someone like Wood so that Fox can go back up front.

I doubt he will be coming back anyway as the only reason he left was to be closer to his family so why would be do it again :s surely there is a team in America that would have him.

Interesting read re. TCW. Whilst I am a fan of Beau, the last line sums it up for me.
"For me, DAB’s return would be a fantastic Christmas present, but there are so many factors that have to be considered and it may just be that the club don’t want him back with things as they are currently."
I really don't believe we need him at present.

So you're telling me that should (e.g.) we lose Fox & Francis through injury you'd rather play imports short that bring in DAB?!? Just think of the benefit that having someone like DAB on the coaching team would bring to the rest of the players, especially the brits!!

Just think of the benefit that having someone like DAB on the coaching team would bring to the rest of the players, especially the brits!! That's one side to the argument... what if we don't lose anyone to injury? The problem with having a spare import is that either you have one player sitting there cooling his heels most of the time - and what true hockey player would not prefer to be playing? - or you have constant disruption to lines and indeed the whole makeup of the team by constantly changing who edits out. It's not a simple situation...

It's not a simple situation... Yet one that is managed quite happily in many other hockey leagues around the world including (more than likely) all the league's our current imports have ever played in, outside of this one where it seems the concept of having healthy scratches is unfathomable. Not saying we should or shouldn't bring in DAB, merely commenting on this oft repeated opinion that somehow professional ice hockey players who would have experienced being a healthy scratch and will be well versed in the concept of having squad depth will suddenly throw their toys out the pram if such a system is adopted in this backwater beer league.

Can't believe what im reading from some people, "we don't need him" and "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Galivan out and Beau in! DAB is a lot better player!

Its a no brainer.....if he wants to come back then sign him.
Perfect fit, class act, great team guy and only good for the dressing room.We need a sniper because Clarkie is struggling, one that will get that vital goal in a game like the recent loss to Edinburgh.
We have been trying to sign him for a few weeks now so if he comes back to Britain theres only one place he's playing and it ain't Sheffield !
