From what I know it seems King was one of the players deemed to be not pulling his weight.
Bit of a shock so close to the end of the season, time will tell if it's the right decision.
Looks like he will be playing against us rather than for us next year.

A brave, if somewhat radical, move by Finnerty - respect to him for doing it with potentially just 4 games left in the season for the Steelers, but it does send a clear message of what he expects from his team!
Whether the Steelers' faithful will see it that way, particularly if they get knocked about in the Play-Offs, remains to be seen.

I think It's great that finnerty can do that so late in the season. Make you wonder if that happened to us woul we sack a player ... Doubt it.

Gailbraith springs to mins though when he let the team down on a few occasions to go out drinking and that was halfway through the season never mind 4games remaining. I know what your saying though we shouldn't comment till we know what's happened.

Maybe Duff just isn't very good?
As for this, impossible to say whether it's a good move or not with so little information.

As for not very good - well he had signed for the Vipers last season (but didnt play as finances failed), so probably at the budget end of the market

I believe it clearly shows you are no bigger than the team.Finnerty will not tolerate that for long and if you fail to address it you will be gone. Given Kings marketability I am sure the owner was consulted prior to the decision and he backed his coach which it appears the majority of steeler faithful are as well. Balls up move which the players will pay attention to.

Nick Duff should concentrate on his game more instead of trying (and failing I might add) to convince the Premier Inn receptionists to let him take a lady friend to his room lol.

That would line up nicely with his lack of ability on the ice too!!

Much as I hate to admit it, I've been very impressed with Finnerty this season. A coach in a Blazer mould and probably going to go on to better things.
Everybody raved about Ben Simon, but I'd put Finnerty way above him.

Finnerty talks about lack of effort and players being more interested in the name on the back of the shirt rather than the crest on the front ?
Then in the next breath Steelers are supposedly looking at signing Galbraith next year.
Wow...........That should be fun in Sheffield then if they do sign him,Galbraith won't last twenty games under Finnertys regime !

I guess if they did sign Galbrath he would know exactly what was expected of himself. Would be surprised if that was to happen

Got no sympathy for any import who knowingly joins a side with more imports than spaces allow. However, if you do put yourself in that situation then you need to bring your A-game to the rink whenever you get ice time. To do anything else makes you #1 in the coach's eyes for a spell in the stands.

But you don't know what he was promised, he could of questioned all that with steelers responding by saying if your available for selection he will play or something along those lines and we all know what steelers promises are worth

What promises, you either play to your best abilities or you don"t play. Pretty simple to me, the Steelers don't owe him anything other than the opportunity to play.
