As the poll asks, are we now out of the title race?

I believe that we are now out of the title race.
Always next year though....

Mathematically we are still in with a shot. However, the same old story of not being able to grind out results is ever present. Daylight is starting to appear between us and Belfast, and the fact that Sheffield have so many games in hand is the only reason we are not in 3rd place looking back at a cash struggling Coventry outfit rather than looking up. The question is, have we ever been in the title race??

Just can't see Sheffield dropping enough points EVEN IF panthers only lose 1 or 2 games between now and the end of the season.

For some strange reason, Sheffield never lose.

This thread is the reason you will never win. 2 bad results and you're already writing off your chances.
Have a bit more faith, if you think like this then it won't happen.
You say Steelers don't look like dropping points, we still have 2 games against you, we still have 4 games against Belfast and after this weekend we still have another two 3 in 3 to come.
Anything us possible, but you have to believe it.
I don't want to say it, but I hope your team don't give up as easily as you fans do.

They gave up easily enough tonight...
Come on it makes no difference to the players whether the fans believe it or not, its them that win or lose not the fans...

Oh come on - anybody who watched the game last night and Carson's performance tonight must know that we're not going to be allowed to win the league this year.
It's all just a total con.

not over yet, but we'll probly have to win at least 3 if not all 4 of the double headers against belfast & shuff in Feb to keep us in the title hunt...

Unless Panthers lose no more than two games between now and the end of season then it's a two horse race.

I still have the Steelers favourites at the minute, out of the top 3 so far.. Steelers know how to win titles they have a squad full of talent, and the only way I see them slipping up is if you guys keep beating them in the league..
Giants have been playing two top line imports down for most of the season, but we have been grinding out results due to having guys like Awada and Crane stepping in and doing a good job.. If we do sign a top quality import like Szwez then I think we could possible go on to have a great 2nd half of the season.
Panthers need to start grinding out results but they are very much still in the title race at this stage of the season and it's too early to rule any team out. Your team has skill in abundance but do they have the players when the chips are down to grind out results.

I may be part of a minority but i feel some people are hitting the 'panic button' a bit too soon. First of all, no i did not see tonights game due to work From what i have read and heard it does not sound promising but still, there is a decent part of the season left to go yet. We have 6 games against the giants and steelers which (hopefully) could take points of them and go along way to decide the outcome of the season. Sheffield do have games in hand and they are winning well but a game in hand is worth 0 points until the final hooter. I still think there is another twist due this season and hopefully it will go in our favour.

We're out of the race, for the usual reason under Neilson - inept defending. The only time we had 4 important Dmen we looked solid at the back. Neilson, Wilson, Lepine aren't good enough as Dmen to have only 3 imports at the back. We needed someone of the quality of Stephenson to compliment them and take the load off Corey.
Let's hope we can beat Sheffield again and act as spoilers, as the league has gone.
Anyway, come on Belfast.

Tonights result will be what makes my mind up. If we can go the the BBT and get a positive result then I will say yes. Anything less, then no.

Normally I am quite optimistic, but I think it will take more than we actually have to give.
Its annoying as from what I have seen of Sheffield this season, they are average at best.
I think its Belfasts title to lose, more than Steelers to win.

One thing to bear in mind is that Steelers' season finishes with 20 games in 50 days between 4th Feb and 25th March. That's gonna take it out of them.
At the moment they're finding a way through the games, but it only takes a couple of key players getting knocks and niggles and all of a sudden those 20 games become a slog.
I think this plays into Belfast's hands more than ours though - think it might be just beyond us again.
