Technically yes realistically no
We are 2 and a half games back from Belfast and potentially 4 games back from Sheffield so if we were going to go the rest of the season unbeaten we might have a chance but that's not going to happen so if we oly lose 4 more games all season Belfast have to lose 6 + 1 in overtime and sheffield would have to lose 8 and us only losing 4 more games all season is being pretty optimistic as I can seeing us losing a minimum of 7 more times this year meaning if we did that Belfast would have to lose 10 games and Sheffield 11 games and with there only being 20-25 games left in the season that is very unlikely to happen

If you can out-shot the opposition 38 to 15 and still lose 4-2 your chances of winning a title which requires consistency if nothing else are pretty slim. On current form Panthers will be 10 points shy of the league title winners. (Sheffield). Their habit of winning one goal or shoot-out games is astounding. I wish we had some of that.

Yes, it's down to the mentality of the org. Panthers org has other priorities above winning the league and so do some of our fans.
I envy the Steelers in a way, there team has an average season, the fans desert and they go bust. If this threat was hanging over the Panthers they'd go all out, be a lot more ruthless and stop being so soft.
I really don't care who mins it if it's not us, just beat everyone pretend every team we play is Sheffield.

I think Belfast will be dropping a lot of points looking at their schedule which includes...
Double header against Coventry next week. Double header against Nottingham after playing Steelers the week before. Double header against Sheffield at the end of the season. 8 games in total against the other two title contenders, compared to Nottingham and Sheffield who have 6. 9 games against teams who can trip them up (Coventry, Braehead and Hull). Only 5 games against the easy teams (Fife, Edinburgh and Dundee), Sheffield have 8 and Nottingham have 7 games against these teams.

Not sure if we realistically have a chance or not, but I think if we got Belfast off our back and maybe Coventry there just might be a possibilty, it's going to be these games that are going to make or break our season.

This thread is the reason you will never win. How can what is or isn't said on this thread stop the team winning on the ice? 2 bad results and you're already writing off your chances. 2?! Let's just check the standings table on the Elite League site ... That would be 9 bad results for Panthers (7 really bad), 7 for Belfast (4 really bad) and 4 for the Sheffield Liquidators. That's the reason we'll not win the league this year, not this thread.

I voted no.
25-7-2. We've only lost in regulation to Belfast (x2), Covo (x2), Cardiff (x2) and Braehead. We've still got 4 games v Belfast and 2 v Sheffield to come in the league.
I don't see our record as particularly shameful personally, or that our prospects aren't at the very least decent. I'm not saying we will win the league, as the poll states, but we can still win it.

Oh come on - anybody who watched the game last night and Carson's performance tonight must know that we're not going to be allowed to win the league this year. It's all just a total con. Getting a bit sick of this crap now , it's always someone else that's conspiring against you .

dont read it then swift... we have been putting up with this "crap" for as long as the steelers have existed. The first rumour i heard was one of the wembley playoffs where it was "rumoured" toeman was overheard saying the steelers need to win the final as its good for the league... make of that what you will...

Read what I want cheers . Do Sheffield have the final say on who Panthers sign ? Quite frankly it's pathetic and infantile . The only thing stopping you winning the title this year and last in my opinion is your player coach . Nothing to do with ref's or our "mother club" Coventry "rolling over" for us .
