Thought id give some praise to Heerema after last night looked like he wanted it more and even got involved in a few checks.. maybe hes staedily getting his confidence back.. because as we all know he is a class player

Gotta say, he did look great last night. That line of DAB, Fox and Huck has awesme potential

The Tkaczuk/DAB/Heerema line was what won us the play-offs last season. it seems DAB and especially Heerema come into their own with a solid centre on the line, which Fox is proving to be.

Give a quality winger a decent centre and look at them go. Hartnell is benefiting form this with Giroux for the Flyers

The guy is coming back into his own, still not 100% after his concussion but he's getting there. Had a good game last night and took his goal well.

Thought he played better than of late, and yes took his chance for the goal, but Benedict definitely a worthy MOM last night imo. Hopefully more to come from Huck, especially against our friends up the M1 next week.

Honestly I'm not just saying there was absolutely nothing different in hereemas performance last night to previous ones? He scored and maybe people were taking a bit more notice after recent threads?

His movement was good becuase he got given space. He doesnt use his body enough, backs out of checks and is weak on the boards.

Have to agree that Heerema was still generally very poor last night. Again looked our weakest import. His touch seems to have completely gone, and he also seems to have lost his bottle to get stuck in - not a good combination.
I'm more worried by Myers and Lacho's loss of form though to be honest. If Heerema keeps playing below par he can be replaced - the Brits can't.

Regarding the Brits both showed flashes of good stuff but the team performance as a whole wasn't good, and I knew Matthew would not convert the pen.

Myers penalty shot clipped the crossbar did it not? Agree r.e lacho though, the early season form seems to have deserted him.

I know full well that Myers has got an injury - but how does him having an injury give us points to win the league with? Do we get sympathy points for him being injured? I was commenting on the fact I'm worried about his lack of form, not the cause of it.
Am I allowed to say "utter tosh" back at people's opinion that I disagree with then?
Welcome to The Cage, 2011 version. What happened to this place??

From where I was sat the penalty went right pad, post/crossbar and out so not too far away. Lacho was fairly quiet and Myers was not his usual 'bullish' self but I wouldn't say I'm worried. I haven't watched enough games this year to pass comment on Heerema earlier form but he was okay last night. Worryingly from me was Wilson, doesn't fill me with confidence unfortunately and did anyone else see him check Kowalski at one point?

Good heavens dp, calm down, his injury is to his hand so maybe just maybethat has something to do with his as you put itlack of form. As for sympathy points, grow up.

As for Heerema, Simms reckoned at the start of the season, that Heerema was going to be the number one player in the league, well he's not and more to the point he's pants. Get rid.

People are expecting too much of him. As they did with Cameron Mann. Heerema is doing just fine, over a point a game so far and his line is producing well. He did go off the boil a bit after his injury and he's slowly coming back to form. As has been said before he creates space for others and doesnt get the recognition he deserves for that. As for those stating that he is one of the highest earners, could someone then please tell me how much he earns? (I wont hold my breath)

Of course we don't know how much he earns, we don't know how much you earn however, just look at his pedigree, it's not difficult to suggest that he would be a top earner.

Given his points per game average, if he had played 29-30 games instead of 22 games he would be inside the League top 20. As long as he remains healthy we should see a greater return from him as the season goes on.

Heerema sees the ice better than anyone, and his positioning is fantastic - that might explain the perception that he can be lazy at times.
Perfect example on Tuesday night: the Clan have a 3-on-2 break, Heerema is back-checking, a stride or so behind his man but looks like he's not busting a gut.
What happens? The pass comes from right to left - to Heerema's man - and lo and behold, there is Jeff's stick to break up the play.
He's smart enough to understand when to go flat out and when to conserve energy.
The guy had a concussion - he missed ten games. It'll take time for him to get back to full fitness.

Who IMHO does not always try 100% which really winds me up. Same as most quality players imho I had the same issue with Jade. Obvious talent, clear skill, could be so much better if he put more effort into it. But it's a case of; I'm the top points scorer in the league, so why try harder?
