Top point scorer in the league. Do people still not rate him? If he was any other player we'd be looking to sign him (we have a tradition of signing the top scorers the following season)

If he was any other player we'd be looking to sign him (we have a tradition of signing the top scorers the following season) It had nothing to do with rating him. his skill level was never in question. It was all about his work ethic, belfatgate and his effect on the rest of the team. Also i dont see that we have a tradition of signing the top scorers the following season.

......(we have a tradition of signing the top scorers the following season) We also have a tradition of not winning the league, even with a load of 'top scorers'. Perhaps having a team that works together is more important than having a load of really good individuals, especially individuals who are locker room cancers?

dont think he has had any hissy-fits yet either. Thats probably because the coach isnt his best mate and he can't walk all over him. Like everyone has said awesome player when in the mood... do we miss him errrrmmmm NO.

Panthers have more points than the clan, team sport, end of. Maybe he's finally learnt his lesson shame it took so long, maybe he's just playing on a team with one top line which gets all the points for the team? Who knows. Would I have him back? 100% focused jade would walk into any team.

To be fair, as long as he kept producing the points, I didnt care if he murdered puppies in his spare time.

Usually got them from Manchester until they dropped a league. Then we turned our attentions to Belfast. Not always the very top scorer but right up there.

He's looked pretty focused to start the year. Having watched the Clan train a couple times I can vouch he's skating hard there too.
Maybe he's turned a new leaf this year.
As a hockey fan, I love watching his touches and his vision on the ice every week, thanks for letting him come to Glasgow.

Unquestionable talent. Questionable application/attitude.
One is much harder to come by than the other

James while I agree with most of your posts, but as some one who has endured the disease, to liken Galbraith (or most human beings for that matter) with cancer is in very bad taste.

He has a point to prove and fair play to him! Still prefer the players we have and the work ethic that they bring to the team.

Good player, but many comments relate to how well the TEAM has put their back into it this year and kept going, moreso than in the past. In many ways it was a pity that the gap could not be bridged, but there is the basis of a top 2 team at the moment. Perhaps for him it was time to move on also.

Having the top points scorer in the league doesnt win you anything. So regardless of his points output this year, we look better off without him.

no-one can deny his skill level, what upset most panthers fans was his attitude and work ethic. based on seeing him for 3 years previously i wouldn't have him back even if he scored 200 points in the season, he's poison for team spirit.
in the 3 seasons we had him, 2 teams won the league without him. so we can do the same.

James while I agree with most of your posts, but as some one who has endured the disease, to liken Galbraith (or most human beings for that matter) with cancer is in very bad taste. Pantherman66 - As a student nurse who wishes to specialise in oncological care when I qualify (my target is working as a Macmillan Nurse) I would never use inappropriate language that cheapens the very real suffering that yourself and thousands of others have and do suffer as a result of the disease. This said though the term 'locker room cancer' is well used within NA sports reporting (such as here and here) with the implication that individuals who are described as such have a corrosive and destructive effect on the 'body' that is a team, which is itself an extension of commonly used phrases that relate teams and their component 'parts' to anatomical structures, such as "he is the brains of the team". So whilst I sympathise with your illness I will not apologise for the use of a phrase that is very commonly used in NA sports reporting but hope that this explanation helps you to understand the basis for its use and that it is in no way meant to cheapen the disease.

On the surface pantherfan007, Galbraith's points tally looks impressive, but did a bit deeper and you will get a slightly different impression:
Points v each team (in League position order):
Belfast 1+2 (7.9%) Nottingham 1+0 (2.6%) Sheffield 0+0 (0.0%) Coventry 2+3 (13.2%) Cardiff 0+5 (13.2%) BRAEHEAD Edinburgh 2+5 (18.4%) Hull 1+3 (10.5%) Dundee 0+3 (7.9%) Fife 3+7 (26.3%)
So, just 10.5% of his points scored against the Top 3 sides; 36.9% against the Top 5 Clubs, and a massive 63.1% against the Bottom 4, with over a quarter of his season's tally against bottom side Fife.
People will say you can prove anything with statistics, but this split reflects what we saw for the Panthers in previous seasons - Galbraith excels against the lesser teams - often chasing officials round the ice to get credit for an assist, but all too often he went missing against the top sides.
We can't afford to have a player that only gives 100% when he thinks he can rack up the points - give me the consistent work ethic of Fox and Francis any day!

But how does that compare to what the TEAM scored against those sides? That would make it a fairer comparison.

Also, could you run the numbers on (for example) Champagne or Fox? I reckon their point distribution would probably be similar.

I'm sorry but those stats are not relevant at the minute. The clan have only played the top 3 sides 6 times this season while they have played the bottom 4 sides 11 times. Later in the season I believe you can get more out of those stats but at the moment they don't mean a thing
