Nottingham's squad is packed with talent. Myers, whilst a huge loss, should not be a reason for Nottingham to implode. You still have arguably the best team in the league and this despite the loss of Myers, I don't see how other teams, who have their own injury woes at the moment, come close to Nottingham on paper.

I think Belfasts team is by far the best on paper and also on the ice too. Its a big loss, but one that can be over come, the biggest difference it makes now to panthers is that we can not afford any other significant injuries during the next 2 - 3 months otherwise we are pretty much screwed haha. we could do with recalling Josh Ward as while he isn't quite ready for this level yet, he can still do a job

Wow so he could end up playing sooner rather than later?! This must be a strange injury!

My only thought with letting him play on and have surgery or whatever later is how bad is the injury going to be at that point, I'm thinking of what happened to Danny and how bad is injury was after playing on. Sometimes better to nip it in the bud get whatever done now and have the guy fit from Christmas and onwards. I know the medics know what they,re doing but hockey players can be a stubborn bunch and just want to play no matter.

The exact wording is
'there is an outside chance that Matthew may be able to play on and have work done at a later stage. All the options have to be assessed and more tests are being lined up'
To me it sounds like we are clutching at straws, and how long can he play on for one week, two weeks, a month?

An article to quieten the masses due to the unrest from a very poor performance against the Giants and fans pointing out that results have been poor against the teams who are likely to be challenging for the league....
A nothing article, he might play on, he might be out for 6 weeks or he might be out for double that... seems to be to be covering all the bases....

Kids a warrior, he'll play on if he can i'm sure.
Doc probably signed him off work for 6 months and was then surprised when he wasn't happy about it and reassessed. :-)

Get him in the hospital, get the op done ASAP.
Think long-term!
As someone previously mentioned - Danny's injury could've been sorted a long time ago but wasn't - meaning he then missed how long?!

For anyone who's not heard the interview on Panthers Radio
Matt went to have a bruised hand checked out - on the x-ray, it showed he had also broken his wrist on a previous occasion. On further checks, they established that the wrist had healed itself and there was nothing that could be done and the bruise wasnt going to keep him out.
Theres no indication as to when he broke his wrist but shows how much of a trooper the guy is if hes done any hockey with broken bones
