What a great weekend. I have only been to a few weekends but this was by miles the best of the lot, topped off by us winning it. All the games were top quality entertainment, never expected us to beat the Steelers in o/t then come back like we did against the Devils. That last 10 minutes or so was the longest 10 minutes of my life, it was like we were on the p/k! When K-Wall collided with someone with a few seconds remaining and was out of his goal my heart skipped a beat, our fans were up celebrating as the Devils fired at an empty net!! Have noticed a lot of Steelers and Devils fans moaning about Hansons call for elbows by Weller, it was right in front of me and he hit our guy with a clear elbow. They cant really complain about that. Sour grapes I think. There were so many highlights for me, the noise the Panthers fans made, I normally critisise our fans for being quiet but from block 18 the noise made me very proud to be a Panther. After the game went to the Castle, wasnt going to but a friend wanted someone to go out with so we decided to stay out 'till about 10pm as I have work today. Found myself falling through the door at 1:30am ;D Had a great night, the Devils fans were in full voice, loads of songs (I think their national anthem singer was there too), loads of banter and met loads of great people from various teams who I'd love to see again next season. Also was able to thank Jono personally for the cats whiskers stuff. Roll on September ;D

As much as I'm absolutely delighted this evening, I'm gutted for the Devils (Finnerty aside), what do they have to do to win some silverware? According to most people on here, probably sack the coach and the GM...

Wow - where to start after that weekend? Just an amazing spectacle, the semi-final v Shef was withouth the doubt the best game i have witnessed at the NIC, just about had everything. Both sets of players were immense - it was a pleasure to be there. Also enjoyed having the Cardiff fans behind us for that one. They were great all weekend. As for the final; Jeez how many times can our guys dig deep. My gut feeling before the game was that we'd do it; even at 2-0 I was not overlyconcerned. The only time i felt a bit like we might not do it was when Voth scored late in the 2nd; thought that might knock the stuffing out of us. In the 3rd though K-Wall came good and we seemed to grow from that. Billy's goal was just class and fit to grace any game - real goosebump moment. Delighted for DAB too, probably not the sweetest strike ever but who cares? Well deserved. A great final, would honestly say the quality of play was better in the semi but for passion, intensity and a real roller coaster of emotions the final probaly surpassed it. Still not got my voice back and hopefully Logan Jnr's Panthers nose and whiskers washed off in time for school. All worth it though - just an unbelievable weekend and fair play to all the teams and fans that attended and made it the great spectacle that it was. The one-ice and balcony celbarations were brilliant; I'd go from standing in silence and soaking it up to bellowing at the top of my voice and back again and repeat. Now, what to do on Saturday night's for 5 months?

Belated congratulations from me guy's. 2 trophies in 1 season is a good haul in anybodys book. To come back from 2 down in both games showed great character. You should be justly proud today.
Roll on next year...

Been watching the Rocky films all week, but that weekend was better than all 5 put together. What a sweet sweet weekend. 2-0 down in both games, everyone against us, the rest of the crowd, the refs, the press. Suck a fat one we did it! I could tell after the first game, the guys were different, you could see it in their eyes, the heart was there, the desire, the belief! What a way to win it, superb! Let's give em something to hate, roll on next season, get the squad signed up, blow the bank, get em here 2 months early, settled in and lets have a real go at this league title.

Congratulations Nottingham. As much as I think we threw it away, you guys took advantage of the mistakes we made and then with your impressive offensive fire power, just blew us away. You looked dangerous everytime you went forward. Thoroughly deserved and thank you for being excellent hosts. Those that didn't cheer the announcement of another 5 years in NIC must be out of their mind. It's the ONLY place to have. The facilities and the location make it perfect. Thank you once again and congratulations from a very gutted Devils fan.

Congratulations Nottingham
Super weekend and to come back both days from 2 goals down is some achievement. Couple of huge moments when the score both days was 2-0...Hewitt missed a sitter and Cardiff hit the crossbar...either chance taken and it would have been a long way back.
They say 2 goals is the worse lead in sport...

I originally posted this in the thread after the Clan games.
Im sick to death of other teams fans slagging us off. If you want us to have a siege mentality for the playoffs then congratulations, you`ve succeeded. I`m gonna be louder, prouder, bigger and better than you all next weekend and its going to be sweet. Bring it on
And how sweet it was, i dont think i`ll ever experience anything like it again, three generations of my family going absolutely bananas. My dad walks using a stick but he was jumping around like a spring chicken after both games

Congratulations, to come back in both games was a real suprise to many of us, but you did it. I could blame our performance on Saturday, Moose's bad day in our net and a number of other things but I won't. I think it's fair to say that as much as I thought the Devils should have beaten you I think you won it well, Particularly thanks to KWall, Bellamy & DAB imo.
I have a feeling that you guys will build on the Cup Double and could be close to ending the long wait for a league title, although there is a long summer ahead so we'll have to wait and see.

I'll only end up repeating what others have said.... but WOW! What a weekend. I was gutted when I missed out on the 2007 playoff win, but this has made up for it. We looked dodgy at times, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one that had moments of panic thinking we'd throw it away. But well done to all players, to battle hard and come from behind as many times as we did is impressive. And well done to all the panthers fans,I thought we did a great job even when the rest of the arena were against us.
Oh, and there's simply no words to describe that sudden death overtime goal against Steelers. I've never seen a place erupt like the NIC did. Incredible.
