AFAIK the majority of the showsec staff on site are not trained to deal with such incidents and pretty much there to man the entrances and deal with the minor problems such as people using flash photography etc

As well as a bunch of yellowshirts, there was a besuited Big Chief Showsec kinda chap up there too, and still they let the guy stay. I thought that rather odd tbh.

Or 'requested' that he stay until everybody else had gone so that they could remove him more easily and safely from the block without risk to any other fans? It's a lot easier to control someone's behaviour if they're kept in one place than actually trying to move them through a crowd (especially going down steps). If I was doing a risk assessment it's probably what I would have suggested in that situation. We heard/saw the blues and twos arriving as we left the arena. Assume it was linked to this incident so they may have requested that the 'gentleman' in question remained put until the police arrvied to deal with the situation in the correct manner as it sounds like somebody was actually harmed.

Well I don't think Showsec were still up there with him at the end, although I stand ready to be corrected on that. You're probably right though Twix, just seemed odd to me but I don't deal much in crowd control

Saw the yellow jackets running up, no idea what was going on. Security obviously saw it as they were on the scene sharpish, leave it to CCTV.
Alot of people didn't seem intrested in the hockey and kept getting up mid game to get more beer, really P'd me off. every 2 mins, they may as well have stayed in the pub.
Is the weekend about the hockey or just trying to sell as many £4 pints as possible? It is really getting stupid, incidents will happen, then it's just a slippery slope.
If guilty, ban.

If guilty, ban. have to agree with that, on Saturday the people next to me were so drunk by the start of the Cardiff belfast game they didn't watch any of it, i had to put up with them constantly turning round to talk to their drunk mates about what curry they were going to have. They didn't watch any of the game.

Not the only incident in the arena on Final Day. A Belfast fan and a tattoo'd fellow were seen to be exchanging words in an aggressive manner behind where I was sat between Block's 12 & 13.

Yep, i was sat just in front. The Belfast fan was trying to pick a fight all weekend! Showsec kept an eye on him and that was it, yet a man was stood up on the back row just before the game and the showsec girl flew up the stairs making him sit down. I assume he was blocking the walls view! Yet a Belfast fan looking for trouble she left well alone

I was also directly next to all of this, to be brutally honest if it wasn't such a packed event it wouldn't have looked nearly as bad. Punches were thrown, the guy was clearly irate and wouldn't calm down but for the majority the 2 'sides' were separated by 5-6 people. It just had the domino affect with everyone being stood-up in a sell-out block. If 'panthertoms' recollection of it are true, then if one were to be banned the other should aswell. If somebody tried to push me down the block (no matter how inconsiderate some may consider my chosen path to be) they better be expecting a physical response and I wouldn't expect there to be many guys on here that would do otherwise. As I said though, if it's true.
Also just to play devils advocate, should parents really be in the stands with their children and vie for blood on the ice and then say that THIS is unacceptable behaviour to have in-front of their children? Is it the plexi-glass bubble that differentiates between 'brutality' and 'entertainment'? :/

But there were security same as there were referee's. It's not technically a part of the game at all, it's against the rules.

There is two sides to every story and if you guy all think that someone is pushed for no reason then you’re having a laugh. I'm not going in to the in and outs of what happened. I wouldn’t call show sec security and they arrived too late, it was left to two ladies to try stop a guy going mad threatening to kill somebody and then another convict comes in assaulting someone else!

There are nimcompoops everywhere, on saturday we were sat in block 5 and this steeler manchild decided to start effing at our group, this was mentioned to showsec during the break and he watched the second game stood next to a showsec guy, job done! Something like the playoffs brings out the best in 99.99% of the fans, it is the 0.01% neanderthals that people talk about though sadly. Also from experience a small bit of bother will turn into a world war if the story is repeated often enough!

As I commented in one of my posts yesterday - there was also an issue with a Blaze fan?? at the top of block 13 at the end of sundays game - obviously liked the sound of her own voice
