1st year $2 million and the 2nd year at $3 million. Now he has to prove he's not the next Fernando Pisani.
Rumour is the Myers new deal is close and will be in the region of 4-5 years at $5.5 million per year.

The Boogasian deal is the same as Marchand, $2 million year 1, $3 million year 2, a very, very good deal for the Jets.
The Tavares deal works out at $4 million, $5 million, $6 million, $6 million, $6 million, $6 million.
Hopefully that should be the kind of deal Duchene will get at the end of the year when his deal is up, as that is pretty reasonable.

The actual salary is pretty low, but he gets a big $10 million dollar signing bonus next season I think. Cap hit average is $5.5 million a year.

Nothing official yet, but it's being reported that Luke Schenn & Toronto have agreed on a 5 year deal, worth in the region of $3.5m per season.
Good deal interms of length and financial outlay.

The chances of Drew Doughty not signing for LA Kings, and going somewhere else, could well be on the rise... www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=375938This could be interesting for any teams with a fair bit of cap space left...

That's a case of it sounding worse than it is. The offer works out to $25,000 a day so therefore he's losing out on a day for every day he doesn't sign it. Fair enough really!

True... but it's more the mindset behind it that I'm thinking of. Doughty is holding out, and no doubt gambling that LA are willing to keep cutting him slack and then give in. They could surprise him... and every day that this goes on, the chances of that increase.

Doughty re-signed by LA to an 8 year deal, worth $56m.

Strong rumour from multiple sources (THN, ESPN) that Avery is on is way out of the Rangers possibly with Christensen and they are in the market for a D. Personally think Avery has very little value alone and would have to be traded with some picks or prospects. Christensen may sweeten any deal though. In my opinion I would not be surprised to see Avery go through waivers though who if anyone would pick him up I don't know.

Toronto acquires David Steckel from NJD for a 4th rounder; nothing major but he'll help the fourth line and win face offs. Season begins tomorrow night!

Sounds like the Rangers are not expecting anyone to pick Sean up from waivers, and may end up in Europe.
I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, and has had a couple of slow years, but the kid is an entertainer, and he'll be a loss to the league.
