We are two mates who have been followin the panthers for four years religously now. Had season tickets for the last three and been away to as many as possible. We think enough is enough of false promises from some tin pot management that couldn't run a bath never mind a hockey team. Believe it or not (and Simms says it too) we are one of the two biggest clubs in the land, surely that must mean we win more than we lose, lose, lose, lose, lose i'm sorry how many times is it we have lost since our great adventure into our great european conquest. Over the last few years of 'CHANGE' including 'Blaiser' and his one trick 'poneys' who are now at 'squeelers' and unfortunately as we do like him Ellis' team who got left in France who are seriously not turning up since. I ask you in joining me in saying we want....
PAUL ADEY BACK, WE WANT PAUL ADEY BACK, WE WANT PAUL ADEY BACK!!!!!!!!!
Tell me if i am wrong but while he was boss did he not consistently take us to the playoff final twice (not finals) and win a cup (in sheffield).
Things need to change as PANTHERS we are WINNERS and i want it back.
Looked at this site for years and never registered but we feel now we needed to unload this off our chest ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!
We want....
PAUL ADEY BACK, WE WANT PAUL ADEY BACK, WE WANT PAUL ADEY BACK!!!!!!!!!

I feel sorry for the people who have watched the Panthers religiously for 10, and 20+ years. If you're fed up after 4 years can you imagine how these guys feel after 20?

i doubt you could either helen given the amount of success bought by sheffield over the years... afterall which team honed chequebook hockey and creative acounting to a fine art eh...as said by several team members/managment... As for lack of success well, grumpy old men arent born they are made that way by watching the panthers....

fair point but keegan didn't win anything Well in terms of league titles the panthers havent won anything for a long long time now. There was the great challenge cup success, but other than that? I always find Panthers fans have this very high elevation of a team which has traditionally been the briadsmaid. Although i will say that panthers fans should be annoyed if your team isnt showing 100%, if they are and are loosing then maybe this team just isnt good enough?

Ill second that mister Never go back (Damps springs to mind) And if your going to give a chance to a player who plied his trade on our shores, at least make it a good one. Ellis is no doubt cheap, and its showing now

I think that if Paul Adey's Panthers teams had won the finals that they lost (Challenge cup in 2003 & the play offs in 2004 and 2005) then he'd have certainly returned for the 2005-06 season. The 2004-05 season however was aweful from what I remember, despite having very very good players in the likes of Kalmikov & Ricci to name but two. The brutal honesty of the Adey years is we were nothing more than the " nearly team" but that term is apparently en vogue with us

Do you think Chelsea would be the same team under Ady Boothroyd

Do you think Chelsea would be the same team under Ady Boothroyd Given the same transfer money as Mourhino, quite possibly.

Do you think Chelsea would be the same team under Ady Boothroyd Given the same transfer money as Mourhino, quite possibly. So why didnt Adey do a good job, why isnt Ellis doing a good job. Panthers have arguably the best facilities in the league, and the best package available for players. We are the Chelsea of the league

Do you think Chelsea would be the same team under Ady Boothroyd I think you misunderstood what I wrote Chris, I wasn't defending Adey reference those lost finals. As for Ellis & Adey being the " cheap option," I have no idea what their salary is so can't comment. What I will say is that if you're infering that with <as an example> a proven AHL/European coach, would Panthers be in this position with the same squad? Yes I think they would as I expressed my reservations about this squad <to MP> before the season began. Unfortunately <and ironically after a great start> my feeling of meh about this squad appears to be true.

We want.... PAUL ADEY BACK, WE WANT PAUL ADEY BACK, WE WANT PAUL ADEY BACK!!!!!!!!! 4 years? Jesus man, imagine how some of us feel. I've been coming 12! As for Adey back, stop being ridiculous. I know Panthers fans have a penchant for the mediocre but that's taking the michael. He did take us to the play-offs (but he never won it), he did win us a trophy (only one, in 4 years) but for the rest of the time we saw uncommited, individual hockey. Adey was, and still is a poor coach. Ellis may not be doing much better but he is an infinitely better coach than Adey ever was. I think that if Paul Adey's Panthers teams had won the finals that they lost (Challenge cup in 2003 & the play offs in 2004 and 2005) then he'd have certainly returned for the 2005-06 season. So if Adey had won us some trophies, he'd be a successful coach? The simple fact is that his teams were never good enough. Hell, the one trophy we did win was as a result of his throwing a 2 goal lead away, and that was due to Sheffield having a contentious goal disallowed.

Hell, the one trophy we did win was as a result of his throwing a 2 goal lead away, and that was due to Sheffield having a contentious goal disallowed. Paul Adey was our head coach from 2002 until 2005 and in that time we got to the finals of: 2003 Challenge cup (lost 3-2) 2004 Challenge cup (won 4-3) 2004 Play off final (lost 2-1) 2005 Play off final (lost 2-1 OT) Had those losses been victories, then four trophies in three season (IMO) would have made him successful. Obviously we didn't win all the finals, so it's all down to hypothesis isn't it.

Just to poke fuel at the fire in a debate I cant be bothered to get into, under Adey we were a nearly team... This season were out the cup first round and when the fixtures have settled down will be 3rd/4th, thats not even nearly!
