Most Steelers fans dislike Dion Darling for moving to Nottm, but I can totally agree why the Panthers fans dislike Tess so much, after leaving in the middle of a season, and then coming back to your biggest rival....

I think you may need to take the Red Welsh tinted spectacles off for a while Gazza put the sinex down and have a sniff of the roses. in fact I'd say you're trolling. but I'll give you an opportunity to tell me who the last big Devils star jumped ship for 30 pieces of gold midway through the season and was welcomed back like a prodigal son with the Devils fans noble clap . under the bridge you go fee fie foe How is he trolling? all he did was disagree with the trend! IMO Tess has over reacted slightly to a childish prank but i suppose i might have a different opinion if it was my car that people were messing with! Its all part of the Panthers - Steelers "rivalry" neither set of fans like to see one of their own players switch allegiances, its only natural/fun to give them some stick if they do!

You know in Cardiff we clap our players back to the barn regardless of how they left, because at some point in their career, they gave their all for the Cardiff shirt. Something Tess certainly did, now you can say what you want about Tess but when he was a panther he gave it his all as his points suggest. Doesnt sit right with me at all And if he'd stayed with us for the entire season then signed for someone else - even Sheffield - during the summer, there wouldn't be anywhere near as much antipathy towards him. But no... he had to go and naff off partway through the season, leaving us in the lurch. That's disloyalty... that's not 'giving it his all'. He showed us no loyalty - why should he receive any now? Personally, I couldn't give a toss that it was Sheffield he signed for... doing that to us and them coming back to the UK and signing for ANY other Elite League would be enough to condemn him in my eyes. I'm not wishing major injury on the man, but I would very much like to see Simoes or someone else check him so hard that he staggers off the ice not even knowing what day it is. A small bit of pay-back... We do welcome back ex-players, Gazza... just not ones that stabbed us in the back. Tessier belongs in the latter category.

Tessier needs to grow up and obtain a sense of humour IMO. I could understand him being mad if his car had been damaged (who wouldn't be?), but to start bleating because a few bits of paper were stuck on his car? If he's that bothered why have his name plastered all over it?

Oh dear oh dear oh dear
Right, well as i have nothing to hide, it was me that placed the £20 notes on tess's car.... so you are all free to have a dig now... however, i would like you to read my account of the event!!!
"Wallpapered" the car??? WHAT? it was 4 one sided, equally sized printed £20 notes with SAMPLE writen across them!!! We were walking to the arena from our car, and passed Dan Tessier's car, and carefully placed them under his window wiper.... even did it on the passenger side so as to not cause a visionary obstruction!!! The security guard stood and watched!!!! Seriously... this is a little OTT.... its no different to all those people that put flyers on peoples windows!
The guy craped on us from a great height then joined steelers.... and he is upset at a little banter??? Many of you know me, and i would hope you would agree that i am far from a hooligan!!!!
He is lucky he is playing ice hockey.... could you imagine if this were the same situation but with Man U and Liverpool or Leeds... imagine what would have happened to his car then! Seriously guys, 4 little notes under his wiper and a few jeers at the match, not really the pinacle of hooliganism is it!
BTW, the notes wernt even on his car when he got back, i walked past it and they had been taken off!!!! So i would lay this at a little spin by a certain someone! I doubt tess even knew!
For what its worth... in hooters sat night, again i had some banter with him.... the steelers team walked in and we sang, "hes dreaming of a swiss christmas, just like the one he had last year" and again waved some money at him and asked him if her was buying the round with all that money he earned during his succesful stint in the swiss league? Friendly clean banter, which got a responce from a professional sports person of "--------------------------------------------" And im the bad guy huh?
Make of it what you want, it was a little joke that some people fail to see, either that or refuse to see all because it was a panther playing a joke on a steeler.... I mean its not like we got abused by some steelers fans whilst walking to the arena on saturday, with them leaning out of their car shouting abusive language at us!!!!
Modified for bad language.

Anyway for what it's worth, (and to some I know thats not a lot), I think it's a bit of journo stirring and a bit of Tess being frustrated that he's getting all the flack when really Blaiser was as much to blame (eg encouraged) for his move to Switzerland. Personally he just need to take it on the chin and let his goals and skill do the talking, especially against your team ;D

Does seem though that Mr Tessier ain't too good at taking it on the chin and the season has a long way to go. Hopefully his angst will increase as the season unfolds.

We weren't angry about him leaving us at all, that's poor journalism. We accepted that he had to leave. It's how he went to Sheffield that grated us.

As someone has already noted Tess did NOT "give it his all" for the Panthers, if he had done he would have left at seasons end with all respect, every blessing and more than likely a league championship winners medal. As it was he walked out, ruined our season and then went and signed a TWO YEAR CONTRACT with our arch rivals. I defended Dan Tessier to the hilt when he left, a chance to further his career in Switzerland, fair play to the guy. A two year contract in Sheffield is NOT furthering his career it's pooping on our doorstep and the guy needs to grow up and deal with the flak that is rightly being thrown in his direction. There used to be only one player I would boo whatever shirt he wore (including IF he'd returned to Nottingham) and that was Rick Brebant after he did the dirty on us. Dan Tessier has made it a list of two and I wouldn't want him anywhere near a Black and Gold jersey ever again however good a player he may be. I'd also point out the difference that I'm sure will exist between the response to Tessier and the response to a certain Mr. Scott Ricci, now there is a man who gave his all for us and will deservedly get cheered Steeler or not.

I really dont think tess has done anything wrong personally,, hockey is his job and he just changed employers, like we all do from time to time, good to see him the uk.

For me, it is the fact that he dumped on the team mid-season for money that is the crucial factor. If he had seen out the season giving 100% and joined Steelers, I think the reaction would have been less extreme - hell, enough of our leading players have headed up the M1 in the past, it's hardly anything new. Personally I would have been equally disgruntled to see him back on our ice wearing any other shirt in the Elite League, having stated his desire to get out of this country to earn more where he would also have more protection for his skills.

Aye, Scott will always be welcomed back warmly to the NIC, in a similar manner to Dave Struch I reckon. Ricci would have played for us this season too - looking at our defence now, it's a real shame we didn't sign him up. I didn't criticise Tessier when he left Panthers, despite the fact that his departure was likely to wreck our season. I wouldn't boo him now either, despite his having gone to Sheffield. For whatever reason, a return to Panthers seemed to be out of the question this season - hockey is his job, can't really blame him for taking the best offer he gets. Tess is a class player despite any short comings he may have in other directions - I'd not object to him playing for us again if the circumstances were right (not very likely it seems). Given the choice though, I'd far rather see Scott Ricci back at Panthers.

If i was trolling you would know about it and i would have posted to get a reaction, i put my point of view across. And what has red welsh tinted specs got to do with anything? im a neutral here. And to be fair i really cant think of the last Devils player to leave for big money through a season, in fact most of our players stay here for years always have done, The only player that springs to mind that left half way through a season to their own free will was Derry meynard but he never came back to us so we didnt get a chance to clap him, oh and Eoin Mcinherney who went to join the fire service, and then begged to come back. Maybe its Nottingham people dont want to come back to (thats tongue in cheek trolling by the way mods ). The closest i can think of is Nicky Chinn who left to go to the Steelers in the mid nineties and told us our club had no ambition and he was going to a better club to further himself. Slap in the face you bet ya, he still got a clap when his name was announced in Cardiff, always has done. Maybe i'll go back under my bridge now ;D See the nicky Chinn example above and that was when we had a Rivalry with the Steelers as we almost always battled with each other for the league. Seeing jona, Hill and matsos go up north hurts like hell as well. Although i think the roof may come of our new building when they come back. It's showing your appreciation. This suprises me the most because it comes from you Shaggy, i would have thought you would have had the common sense to realise this was a job for Tess. He had a better offer at a better league and he took it. Also you say he didnt give 100% because he left, well thats not what i said. What i said was he gave 100% when in a panthers shirt and if 36 points in 25 games isnt giving your all then you have ridiculously high standards in Nottingham. And stabbing you in the back oh please Shaggy you cant believe that can you dude? Wasnt it you yourself that said you had spoken to mike Ellis and Tessier didnt meet his check list for what he wanted in a player? I'm sure it was so Who's to say Tessier wouldnt have come back to make amends for leaving if he had been given the chance? Still doesnt sit right with me, and it doesnt send out a very good message to imports you may be interested in down the road

Ahhh thats right ulmer, that was a bit different though as he was always on a temporary deal to stay fit while he looked for another club, Russ romanuick was injured and we needed a replacement. He would get huge applause though if he ever come back. Merv preist was a bigger loss for us that season who left to join the Police force. Alot of other factors went off in cardiff that season to make us slump Loosing ulmer didnt help agreed but we always knew it would be short term.

Not the same situation Tex.
If I recall correctly Jeff Ulmer wasn't expected to stay for the whole season, he was quite openly seeking to step up to a higher league and using the Devils as a stepping stone. Both parties were happy with the arrangement.
Damn good player though!

my point was that he messed up their season as tess did ours, however as stated he left by mutual consent and so all parties were happy Tess signed an agreement to stay a year so there was no plans put in place prior to him leaving and to say it completely undermined our year is no exageration...even with certain players shortcomings..
