According to tonight's Nottingham Evening Post article McAslan popped a knee when he was crashed into the boards by Ben Gustavson. Seems he had a similar problem with the knee as a junior. He's hopeful of being back by the weekend 11/12 November.

If so bringing in a temporary replacement will mean de-registering one of the other imports and he will have to saty de-registered for at least 6 games.

True, unless McAslan is going to be out long enough (it'd only be 3 weeks) to be de-registered or if the replacement is a Brit.

Id be surprised if we havnt Assuming they didn't de-register him before last night's game, then if they de-register someone now, they'll not be back 'till 22/11 v Hull at the earliest. The only games between now and 11/11 are the two Sheffield games.

Do the rules state thet we must de-register a player before we can replace him? Or can we find a replacement first and the decide who to de-register?

It was filthy, only read one post on here who called it right, he was slew footed, very cheap and dangerous.

Cant agree with that Den sorry. It happened right in front of us literaly inches away. The hit was clean, big, but clean; as clean as the one Simeos threw at Hecl. The damage was done during the aftermath. As He went down he seemed to catch an edge, this meant he was not going where the still moving Gus expected him to be. He seemed to try and jump over him but in doing so there was contact between his skate and Seans leg, total accident IMO. Just as I saw it from no more than 2 feet away.

the only thingslight wrong with the hit, was that it was slightly late, but no more late than any simoes makes

just a total coincidence then that of ALL the players out there the one player that gets "accidentally" injured is the one who has scored 2 goals already and looked the most effective and it wasnt no surprise that after this incident we couldnt score for toffee. Oh and if it was so "innocent" why did corey neilsen whom everyone knows is no thug saw red and went after the instigator? As stated personally if that was the type of game steelers wanted then if i was coach that was the sort of game they would have got, IF the ref isnt going to penalise illegal play then players take it into their own hands dont they?

corey only looked at going after gustavson after he knew macaslan was hurt before he saw him in a heap he didn't even think about going after him, and even then he didn't go looking for a fight

If your were inches away i was playing not trying to start an argument with any Panthers fan but from front row of block 3 it looked a perfectly clean hit mid/ to the edge obviously ice and not on the boards i will add i thought Gus's skate caught his knee or upper shin which can't of helped all based on my brief 15 years + of watching the game round the world...or course...Nem block 1 and inches your missis was right about your judgement and size of things... ;D

if we are quoting years leeds i am sure many if not most of the nic fan base can match and beat 15 yrs means nothing and as been stated people see what they want to see. Alot of fans i have spoke to "saw" gusto motioning his skates down on the legs of what was our best player and by doing so taking him out of the game (and probably many more besides), hence improving the chances of steelers taking something out of this and the next 2 games we play them. As you admit gusto's skate "caught" macs knee which i would think is pretty difficult to do accidentally and as i previously stated If that was how the steelers management wanted to play the game then i would have reciprocated....

This thread is getting similar to the one when Sjogren got checked in Coventry the other year. Two sets of fans with completely different versions of events, each swearing they were right.

That'a the thing though Shorty.
I'm from Nottingham, and a Panthers fan, unyet I don't agree with anything tex has said on this matter. Neither does heja judging by his posts.
