I like the clip with the goalie, any idea who he is? I thought Sean was gonna take out the other player so quite a chuckle when the goalie drops the gloves. I can't help but think that his size is what gives him the advantage against most opponents. At 6'4 he will be bigger than most fighters I guess (??). Did he ever fight Shmyr or Ndur or any of our older enforcers in the US leagues? The whole size thing doesn't make as much difference as some might think, if we look to the NHL as an example Hal Gill is 6'7 and 240lb and has lost to many smaller guys e.g. Rick Ryprien who is only 5'11! Ask Brock Lesner

I questioned our game sheet, and Ronnie and Jim confirmed it was league only.
Tucked up in bed ill, or tucked up in bed with your date you dirty old man?

Nottingham v Cardiff on the 11th September was a LEAGUE game only. I've posted to that effect twice on here already.

The 'ref's corner' idea is a great one too. I'd would be good to point out some awful decisions for all to see and have the ref's take some responsibility for a hopeless decision. Alternatively the ref's could explain why their decision was as it was, give them the opportunity to point out things we'd missed, and educate us. The idea of the show is to grow the sport in the UK not turn people away by showing the apparent incompetence of match officials.

During the breaks, how will the zambonis do their work if people are playing on it at the same time? Have you seen Jono skate?

As a non-player, it always amazes me how much sticks bend. I know this is a technique used by players to get extra whip into a shot, and Corey's clip shows it fabulously.

According to the original fixture list, and the results in the above thread, the game against the Devils counted as a CC match. At the game itself, and on the Official Panthers website, however, there was / is no mention of this. Does anyone know ? Saturday's game against Cardiff was league only.

Pantherdman, you will find the Holy Grail here Holy GrailIn respect of one of your points, please see rule 509d which you will find in the link for Section 5 on page 61. You may answer your other points by perusing the rest of it, though it's not the most rivetting of reads.

Just to play devil's advocate, and speaking from personal experience, mistakes can be made. Sometimes what you expect to be the best view in the building can often turn out to be exactly the opposite. You can sometimes see things more clearly from Row L than you can from six feet from the goal. It's all very well having three cameras on the goal, slow motion replay, and phone calls to Toronto in the NHL, but in this league a decision has to be made instantly by one person. Sometimes your eyes can deceive you. I'm sure Moray sees the error after the event, but his decision was made in good faith at the time. it takes a special kind of person to knowingly 'make a mistake' of that magnitude on live TV. Also to be fair, the players reaction often confirms or denies your decision, but in this instance Moray decided to ignore that. Perhaps the linesmen didn't see it clearly, or weren't consulted - there are other things they need to look at apart from does the puck cross the line. Perhaps the red goal lights should have been cleared to operate normally. It won't be the last wrong decision any official makes. It's history now. We need to learn from it. Deriding people does nothing.
At the play-off finals Sky had instant video replay and a TV behind the timekeepers bench, so decisions could be verified. I thought they may have had similar with it being a live broadcast, but they didn't.
Jade's little dance did make me chuckle.

They've listed it as being taken by Zion.

Spotted the goal judge thing on tele. Both were sitting away from the switch arms folded The switch is on the end of a cable. As long as it's in your hand and you can use your thumb to press the switch, it doesn't actually matter where your hand is. It could be in your pocket. I can't speak for my colleague, but I was pressing my switch. It's a reaction, and you never know if somebody decides the red lights should be working. I would imagine he was doing the same. If you watch Juicy Lucy doing the weather on Central News, it's like her switch to change the screen, but a bit smaller. To keep things on an equal basis, you may be more familiar with Des on BBC.

Thanks Baz, my mistake I apologize. No worries. As a side comment, normally in shoot outs the red lights work. The red lights are linked to the clock, so a goal cannot be signalled when the clock hits 0.0. As all the scoreboard, clocks, and goal lights are new this season, maybe they need looking at. Perhaps the red lights cannot be switched on again as the clock stays at 0.0. As a personal comment, the red lights take an age to come on. You can hear the crowd cheering before the red light is on. It makes the goal judges look even more retarded than they already are. They (the lights) desperately need changing. A red light is an instant signal that a goal has been scored, not a pretty decoration to be used in celebration of a goal. Edited before someone gets cute.

Either way he is a joke and should retire. Yes he missed the call, but the goal judge must take some of the blame, on TV the angle from behind the goal was very hard to call if it had gone in or not. A little lesson for you NYR. When the green light is on, the red goal lights don't work. The goal judge thought it was a goal, but could not indicate that, neither was he asked.

There's nothing on Elite Prospects or any of the associated sites about this. Is it another Kyle Calder story? ;D
In all seriousness you must be like a dog with two Richards Nem. I'm sure the memory of skating out onto the ice with the team and hearing your name over the tannoy will stay with you forever. Pity it's not the live Sky game.
Will you be looking at the States next year, or perhaps a couple of seasons at DEL level before making the transatlantic signing?
All the very best man - I'm jealous as phook.
