Unfortunately I feel Paredes will leave at the end of the season, you get the impression the situation has taken its toll on him. But I do agree with you though, you have to give a coach time/ numerous seasons to build a team. If Paredes does want to stay and try and building something then great, if not, where do we look? Bruce Richardson maybe? Bruce has had his time in this league, is building a very nice career for himself after his time in the QMJHL and now in the junior ranks of the team Canada set up, coming back to the EIHL would be a massive career regression for him. Agreed, it probably would be a strange move for Bruce in his current position. I’m probably just looking back with rose tinted glasses and reminiscing slightly. I like the idea of a team being built and led by Bruce Richardson in Nottingham though

How many coaches come in and see it click in their first season? Before a puck was dropped this season, many were laughing that Steelers coach was still employed. They have stuck with him, added year on year and have reaped the rewards. Parades has a good record over time, and can be forgiven for this year given the AJ situation. His stock was / is still high after his record in France to improve teams over time. Go for an overseas coach again and you have to give them a season (or two) to create any serious impact. Unfortunately I feel Paredes will leave at the end of the season, you get the impression the situation has taken its toll on him. But I do agree with you though, you have to give a coach time/ numerous seasons to build a team. If Paredes does want to stay and try and building something then great, if not, where do we look? Superb battling from the team tonight, really unlucky not to get the win then.
We set up and were solid at the back for the majority, the defenceman were superb in the board battles and as a team we played that the right way up and down the ice. If we would have setup this way throughout the season, then we might have had a bit more success tbh.
Steelers weren’t to their usual standard though, their aggression and usual pace wasn’t their and the amount of times they mis-controlled the puck was encouraging. We didn’t capitalise on what we did create missing two clear open nets, Welsh’s missed chance was astonishing. We were desperately unlucky in OT as well, Lunjsö found some space behind and rifled it off the bar.
Disappointed straight after the game, but looking at it now, a point is a good result

This is going to be tough. If I’m coach I don’t see why we don’t give Anderson a shot on defence Or Sheldon in goal. Without meaning to disrespect Luca, I think it would be an insult to the travelling fans if we started him in this game, we’re still clinging on by a thread to our playoff hopes, Rok is our starter and he needs to turn up. If Rok has a bad performance though and Sheffield run up a lead, then I would give Luca some ice time. The same as we should have done on numerous other occasions this season

This is going to be tough. If I’m coach I don’t see why we don’t give Anderson a shot on defence We certainly wouldn't be losing much point production on a forward line if we did. My thinking exactly, he’s offered little going forward this season. He’s a good skater imo, why not give him a a shot right now whilst we’re desperate? If we’re willing to put Kelsall there why not the same with Anderson?

No Neill,Caruso,Ryczek or Neilson. This is going to be tough. If I’m coach I don’t see why we don’t give Anderson a shot on defence

If you believe the culture of the club is the reason why we’ve struggled and have ended up languished in last place then I think you’re being unfair. The team have been through something catastrophic and unfortunately it has affected the professional relationship between them all. Nothing is normal for the team, what we expect from the coaches, in terms of motivation and leadership, doesn’t seem to be there when you watch them on the bench. I know your opinions on the club, as well as how long you’ve been watching hockey. Surely you can see that nothing is normal, there have been so many difficulties for the club to navigate. The club’s culture isn’t the cause of all of this I was sort of hoping the tradegy would have galvanised the group and they rallied and if anything punched above their weight and go on and achieve something if not for themselves but for Adam So did I, we all did. The good times will be back though

The Nottingham culture does what exactly? You've been watching the team long enough, I'll let you fill in the blanks 😉 If you believe the culture of the club is the reason why we’ve struggled and have ended up languished in last place then I think you’re being unfair. Rok just doesn't have any middle ground. He's either outstanding or he is terrible. And when he's terrible he's really bloody aweful. The times he is outstanding are few and far between. When you then add in that we had arguably the worst no2 import i've seen since the trend began we were never really going to achieve a lot. To cap off the whole netminding farce we then had them being rotated out after having their best games. You'd be forgiven tonight for thinking Dundee had their number 1 import in and we had our Brit back up in. Of course the D is weaker without Caruso and Neill. Then so much of what is wrong defencovely is down to team defence and forwards not picking up players. I heard a while ago that JP isn't much pf a coach regards systems etc. He's more of an engagement and team spirit guy. I think that may ring true. I will forever be greatful for them all this season, including JP, but that is a good group of D with some good forwards too. Perhaps the problem with the defence is the lack of a plan? Yet again we find ourselves with some very good players reduced to being written off once playing here. It's the Nottingham culture ! Panthers could turn Cale Makar into a dud! The Nottingham culture does what exactly?

Yep. Never liked him either but he’s better than Rok We’d be higher up in the league if Carr was in net for us. 78% save percentage for Rok tonight

Two soft goals conceded by us. McGurty is not the answer to replacing Neill as point man on the 1st PP unit either
Our 1st line are flying again

But missing caruso, neill, Nielson Listening to the interview that BBC Nottingham did with Paredes after the Fife game, you get some insight from him with regards the injuries. Sounds as though Neill will be out for a while… www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0hj741w

Straw poll: have I missed something or is a poster posting about the number of times they've been banned from the form for their behaviour, and saying they've had to be banned again recently, the best way to prove they're just here as a hockey fan? I think I've entered the Twilight Zone Sorry guys there's much to be said about the game, the schedule, reinforcements etc but I'm out. Have a good one people. Now to be an honorary Flames fan for the next 24hrs! Hoping for a Flames shut out and statement win 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾 Can see steelers running away with it 4/5-1 .. Simms will whip all the locals up in a frenzy and they'll be too hot for the flames .. Is it not a neutral M/C for the cup final?

So he normally commutes from Dundee to Nottingham every weekend for our games? No wonder things have gone even further downhill since Pacha took over. What’s his record in two years…7th and currently 10th in the league, didn’t make POFW weekend last year and may not even make the play offs at all this year is it ? That’s some going that ! 🙄 We did make POFW last season. It was season 21/22 that we didn’t. I do think it’s a bit strange if he is living in Dundee, how is he supposed to oversee the running of the club?

No he’s not, he’s literally in the next box from me as the game is beginning. yes I stand corrected DMS, I saw him to. He’s not usually around mid week as obviously lives in Dundee, you never know he might go up on the bus with them on Friday. So he normally commutes from Dundee to Nottingham every weekend for our games?

Very, very disappointing tonight. Severely missed Caruso and Neill at the back if only to take some pressure off the other dmen. We looked and played as though it was our 3rd game in 4 nights.
Others have mentioned the line combinations and how ineffective they were, which I’d have to agree with. We were so poor and disjointed in transition.
It’s a real shame we’ve not managed to capitalise tonight, the team and club deserves something positive out of this season. It’s not over yet but we have to win on Friday and it needs to be in regulation

This game is now massive, I'm sure we'll get behind them as we have been doing. Why is this game on Tuesday, the Darts is Thursday, do they need Wednesday to set it up? Massive game, no doubt the fans will be behind them like you say. As a season ticket holder, I’d have no issue if the club decided to put discounts on for midweek games. It would be great if we could try and get regular mid week attendances similar to what we had last week.

They needed less than 20 seconds of PP. Gutting. However we could really do with a regulation win over the Mel Gibsons. Dundee are the target right now, need to get a better result than them tonight
