Although didn't Neil Black promise a radio service for games at a Q+A? Could be that. He did, but given Gary Moran has not retired yet it may have been downgraded to a telegram-based service.

Yeah, they do a lot of that. Cory Pecker was apparently going to take the league apart... I wouldn't worry about Thompson or Simms banging their gums. The former is on borrowed time and the latter blows smoke up the backside of anything that commits to pulling a pair of skates on in Shuff.

Sometimes I really do wonder why we bother! To drive debate? It seems like 'The Cats Whiskers' is looking for comment. Agree? Disagree? What do you think? If you don't want comments why ask a question?

Nope, I'm questioning why every other thread has to turn into a Corey bashing session? So it's actually "yes" then. As I said, you don't tell me what to post and I won't tell you, seems a fair enough compromise. If you can't cope with my posts though add me to your 'Foes' list, then you won't see them. I won't be offended because I don't seek your approval.

About bloody time. When was the last time the Boxing Day game was in Nottingham? Seems like it may have been a while ago. I thought it was supposed to rotate between the two teams each season?
Oh, and yes, Simms is a dick.

Not directly this time, but you'd get the first assist on it with your rhetorical question. Is Neilson the only person who could 'gas' players? Wasnt there a belief that Shalla was gassed by Neil Black?

Oh look, another player announcement followed by more digs at the ex coach. Give it a bloody rest already. What are you, the Forum Police? How about this. I won't tell you what to talk about and you don't tell me eh?

Yes you have to question how on earth Bussieres lasted the whole season without getting gassed ! That'll be Corey "Nice Guy" Neilson in effect. He was like an old spinster with cats at times, just wanted to keep them all.

Couple of picks from that round in that year went on to have pretty decent NHL careers in Jason Demers and Matt Barkowski (the 186th and 190th picks). And 11 from that round have retired...

Drafted 189th overall by the Coyotes. Well done that man. Tim Billingsley was also drafted 189th by the Coyotes.

Apart from it being black. How many black lions or pumas have you seen? He shouldn't have seen any black Pumas or Lions because they don't exist. The former most certainly do. Black (or melanistic) Pumas are one of the many types of melanistic big cats* that get grouped together and called 'Panthers'. (*The others usually being melanistic jaguars and leopards)

Panthers sign Pither, Steelers sign Martinelli, wonder who got the best deal. After a long thought I go with option 1. Quite apt that Martinelli may soon be dressing like a traffic cone too, rather than just playing like one.

If you didn’t know differently, our logo could be a cat.....or pretty much any feline for that matter. 🙄 Panthers are not a distinct species, they are a melanistic colour variant of one of any number of big cat species. So a Panther can indeed be "pretty much any feline for that matter".

Fake news.....Paul Swindlehurst has signed for Belfast Giants......Official As long as he gets the ice time he feels he deserves everything will be fine, otherwise Mummy and Daddy will be knocking on Adam Keefe's door to complain on behalf of their ickle boy.

Both faces of our coach of 10 years there in a nutshell...... Indeed. Good at some things, terrible at others. I'm sure that, contrary to what has been said, even Neilson's most voracious critics can and do recognise his strengths and acknowledge them. It's such a shame that criticising his failings is equated by some to not being able give praise where it is due. It's a cheap jibe and adds nothing to the conversation.

Oh and dont get me started on non season ticket holders are the clubs best friend as they are the ones always paying full price (i work shifts so its not worth it me getting one) and they are the ones who most likely pay more over the season yet the ones getting screwed in one off games and come playoff time get pushed to the back of the queue when it comes to getting playoff tickets etc Indeed. I've noticed a fair few ST holders whinging that they're not getting a bigger discount on these extra games. ST holders get a substantial discount on every game and, as you've mentioned, get a whole load of other perks too. If only I had a job where I got every weekend off, then I could get a season ticket and whinge like some entitled brat too, crying out for more. A season ticket should entitle holders to the games they've paid for, no more, no less.

Time to offer Hull the 12th spot and sack off hockey in Edinburgh.
With his previous history of helping run a team (Manchester Phoenix, into the ground) I'm not convinced that having Tony Hand involved is an improvement over the current dumpster fire playing out of Murrayfield.
The ownership group behind the Hull Pirates on the other hand seem very professional and have publicly stated their desire to join the EIHL. They also play out of a decent sized rink that is a lot closer to the majority of EIHL teams, and by playing in the EIHL it may help with pushing for ice hockey provision in the new Hull Arena.
As a further plus, having Hull in the EIHL might sound the death knell for the conference system, or at the least reduce the absurd three of four down to a more acceptable two of six.

Who's to say we can't do just as well as Braehead? They didn't come bottom of their conference like we did. Saved by the Crapitals.

You’re an absolute bundle of joy aren’t you... Don't hate the player, hate the game. You reap what you sow, thus why many treat the EIHL and it's constituent teams with so much suspicion.

Yeah it was Nicola who told the Arena that the Panthers are in litigation with me. Interesting. Surely as it was a named individual, despite presumably working on behalf of the Nottingham Panthers, she is responsible for what was stated and it's besmirching of your character?

[Now sponsored (ie. paid for) by the GMB then ? 🙄 Yes I believe so, but it's not to take the attention away from the NHS but to expand what they can do. As the deal with the NHS involved no transfer of funds there was only so much that could be done. With the GMB sponsoring (funding) the community and health program there is potential for an increase in activities etc. The GMB funding something that involves the NHS is also a natural fit, given that they are a union with strong ties to the health and social care sector, as well as schools. There are many things to knock the Panthers for and I'm rarely afraid to do so, but this isn't one of them.

What really widdles me off is when it's NHS money. The NHS don't pay any money to the Panthers. It's actually a social partnership between club and the local NHS trust, with no money changing hands. Panthers get good PR for working with the NHS and the NHS get publicity for specific programs, such as mental health, healthy eating etc.
