I wouldn't bother with the Arena Car Park. Unless you pay in advance it's expensive, last time I went past there it was just compacted hardcore rather than a properly finished car park and, whilst it has CCTV and is apparently 'patrolled' it's not exactly in a nice part of town. If you don't know town you're better off parking at a tram stop park and ride (such as Phoenix Park) or if you're not too bad at following Sat-Nav, using Marco Island Car Park. It's just up the road from the Arena and you get to stop off at the rather excellent Bunkers Hill on the way in.

Do you not like his pitter patter commentary where he picks all the clichés off the top shelf where the good whiskey is kept? In a word, no. It's difficult for me to say this given how much I despise the homophobic, racist and mysognistic nasty little bigot, but if he wasn't such a enormous bell-end Simms would be a good shoe-in for a job like this. Unfortunately he is a homophobic, racist and mysognistic nasty little bigot and enormous bell-end to boot, so that rules him out in my ever-so-humble opinion.

Unfortunately I doubt it'll take long for those new to ice hockey to become weary of Aaron Murphy's monotonous and cliché-ridden commentary.

Coventry are the only team not on there at all! Given their unpredictable attendances perhaps Coventry asked not to host televised games in case it hit them in the pocket?

Whilst Devils have signed a good collection of players will they gel as a team? As Panthers fans surely we should be well aware that a team is far more than just a collection of individuals?
Chernomaz is by far the most experienced coach in the league, he has well over a decade of experience coaching at the highest level of European hockey and knows what is required to build a team.
Where I feel Chernomaz's experience will really count though is in games where Panthers would have previously 'thrown away' points against teams who they should really have been beating. I feel he won't have the attitude that Neilson seemed to have, where it was almost mandated to take the foot off the gas for such games.
I'm not going to make a prediction but I feel Devils won't run away with the league and hope Steelers get battered so hard it causes a meltdown in Shuff.

Especially when two days previous Thommo was spouting how fit his guys had come in and had been unreal in all their pre season fitness checks. It appears Robert Dowd has picked up an injury. Seems he his on-form already!

They're very lucky to have a coach who epitomises their organisation so well. He signs fetid turds such as Martinelli then blames the officials for his team racking up penalties quicker than Lawrence racks up a bar tab. Funny how it's always someone else's fault with Sheffield. I love the fact that many Steelers fans detest the style of hockey Thompson has them playing, yet understand it's unlikely he'll be binned as long as his mate Simms (who many of them still think is great) still pulls the strings up there. It must chew them up. "I hate the way Thompson coaches but am fully supportive of his homophobic mate, what do I do?"

A team does not go from the start they had, to the form they showed during the latter part of the season. Except that that's exactly what the Panthers did.

I'm sorry if our owner is a top top guy unlike your owner who don't communicate with you and just takes all your money and fobs u all off with a load of garbage. Just because he is telling you what you want to hear doesn't make it any less garbage. He has no idea what other teams are spending but is playing the 'plucky underdog' line to a tee, and many of you seem to be swallowing it. "Top, top guy"? Perhaps, or perhaps he just has a more polished set of spiel?

Wasn't it Cardiff Devils who kicked off the 'chequebook hockey' arms race last time? How did that turn out in the end?
When you don't pay a penny to use your arena you have a hell of an advantage when it comes to splashing the cash.
It'll be most amusing though if they draw a blank this season.

How cute. hopefully they get the same treatment the Leeb brothers did Ahhh, they're so dinky. Hope they like hirsute women because the puck bunnies in Shuff will be chucking their size 26 knickers at them.

Didn't he play at Ässät, Elite Prospects as them in 8th ? And a quarter final loss in the play-offs. I know some folks get a little over-excited about new signings but making up easily checked facts?

Get him in Saltbox on the ale and he’ll soon bulk up. I believe Chris Lawrence patented that particular weight gain program. Must say I'm quite pleased with this signing. He has still been slotting away the goals in some pretty decent leagues and with the potential play-makers in this season's team he could be in for some good service. Might be a bit awkward though when someone has to explain why we won't be visiting Edinburgh this season...

Mmmm he might be thinking the EIHL is more physical than it really is... That's not really the point I was going for but hey hum... What I'm trying to say is that, despite all the worries that NA players might get lost on big old Olympic ice, Chernomaz has been signing such players for 19 seasons now and onto teams that play in leagues of a far higher skill quality than this one. I'm sure he hasn't mistakenly signed players thinking the EIHL is the UK version of the LNAH. It could be he has signed bigger players he knows (with 19 seasons worth of experience behind the decision) can both keep up on Olympic-sized ice and provide a bit of bulk. I think people are forgetting that Chernomaz is one of the most experienced coaches to have ever worked in the UK. He likely brings with him a level of knowledge, experience and contacts that few other coaches who've worked in the UK can come close to matching. Looking at past Panthers coaches, Adey, Blaisdell, Dampier, Ellis, Woods...some big names among them with regards to Panthers history, but none of them had anywhere near the experience Chernomaz has when they took over the reins in Nottingham.

I wonder if, in his 19 seasons coaching teams who've played on Olympic-sized ice pads in less physical/more skilled leagues, Chernomaz has ever had to consider these apparently huge concerns before signing players from NA?

...i wish i could get the same interaction from Neil Black... The guy has all the personality of an innaimate carbon rod. I'd rather he just keep quiet than embarrass himself (and the club) by trying to sound 'matey'. Perhaps it's about time one of the other Panthers' owners stepped up and put the grey man out to pasture?

So the facilities fee for a new scoreboard? Will away fans be charged the fee? Away fans to pay for a Panthers scoreboard doesn’t seem right. You pays your money you takes your choice. I refuse to contribute to a team who continue to employ a homophobic, racist mysognist, so I no longer attend away games in Sheffield. If you don't feel it's fair paying this 'facility fee' then stay at home.

Think we need a bit of perspective on this one... Ok, I'm listening. Bit of an assumption to make given the quality of previous pre-season games. It's non-competitive warm-up hockey, with teams not wanting players to risk injuring themselves before the season starts. Surely the 'facility fee' covers that doesn't it? And as already stated, in non-competitive games. In your opinion, but others may view £12 for a non-competitive warm-up game as expensive. You've also no idea what the finances of individuals are like. Surely its mutually beneficial for both teams (a pre-season warm-up game) so they should be paying their own way? Why not call it a tenner regardless of the opposition? It's the use of the venue which is the largest cost so the team Panthers are playing shouldn't come into it.

Unless I manage to cadge a free ticket I'll be giving the pre-season games a miss.
Anything more than £10 (including 'facilities fee') is just too much for a friendly.

Although didn't Neil Black promise a radio service for games at a Q+A? Could be that. He did, but given Gary Moran has not retired yet it may have been downgraded to a telegram-based service.
