Any expectations for some re-signing news on or before the release of the application forms do you think?

It seems the players will get their winners medals after the game against steelers on Saturday night.

They probably don't even know 5+game.......after all, they seemed to have forgotten Lacho's little contract clause bombshell late last summer, when he decided he was coming back and they had to sign him,but Panthers already had a full Brit quota after signing Swindlehurst ! Last April Neil black said we would be going with 9 Brits .. And lacho made 9. Of course we now are back down to 8 with ps going to Manchester. And of course nb also said we would also have 13 imports .... Hmm .... I had expected that to be for the majority of the season!

It wouldn't surprise me if some re-signing haven't already been made .... just waiting for next years season tickets to be announced as on sale. That's how they roll.

just seen this on twitter and would be great if we could do this
Perhaps if Panthers followed steelers lead by re signing key players for next season early they'd be more successful But they are too short sighted to realise this. Steelers manage to retain key players to build on it. Last year aside (because we didnt sign the coach up that quickly, ... and because of Brits playing GB (I think)) we have, imo, generally been very quick to get the squad signed in comparison to the rest of the league. With that there were some criticisms that we were signing too early, and with that likely paying over the odds for the pleasure ... and that we should therefore wait and get potential quality players that had been waiting it out for better offers. It's a double-edged sword.

We are not in the title race. It went at Christmas as it has done the past 3 years. Neilson out, Moran out, black out. I am not adverse to signing the majority of this squad again but my first signing would be wiikman, I think he's proved solid in this league. I'd also try to poach a couple of players from other clubs, probably breaking some 'gentlemans agreement' but screw or id want to win at all costs. You can see how people view individuals differently ... Wiikman has been ok, but he hasn't won me over to want him back next season. Even at the early stages of the season when he had unbelievable stats, i thought that was more of a reflection on our D at that time rather than Mika ... and similarly when the stats went bad, i thought it was the D that had gone backwards and Mika's performances little changed. Probably in the minority in that view, i know.

Fife have 1 conference game left - against Storm away on Sunday. If that lose that Clan would need to win 4 of their last 5 conference games to jump them. If Flyers take the win, obviously Clan would have to win all 5 of their remain conference games.
Ditto above, I'd love to see Flyers win the Gardener Conference.

Or unless they stick with it to make sure he misses the final... He will be devastated if he misses that. Sticking with it means it was a game penalty, and Cam doesn't miss anything. If the review raises it to a match, Cam would miss Fridays game, but not the CC final.

I've just listened to Corey's interview & I dont think I have heard him quite that mad in a long time, he very rarely makes outright comments about the officiating, its even worse when Braehead fans are as puzzled about the calls & then say thats what they have to put up with week in week out. I think Corey keeps it very professional by talking about individual incidents rather than specifically lambasting the referee in a general sense.

I've posted this on another thread but it keeps in focus how close it is, taken from Steeltalk where both Sheffield & Cardiff are nervous about us... now I see why Even if the Panthers lose both of their games in hand, they win the rest of their games and they still win the league, as they have to play both Sheffield and Cardiff twice. Losing the two games in hand and winning the rest would give them 2 points more than Cardiff, even if both the Devils and us won every game remaining as well. No pressure for tonight then.. i dont think is correct though ...if we lose our 2 games in hand we will be 6 pts behind cardiff, of which only 4pts can be recouped against them.

The budget deserves to be upped though Guinnessman, our crowds are well up so we should be repaid accordingly. 13 imports plus 9 Brits v 15 imports plus 5 Brits is not a lot of difference at all cash wise. I think that is the split I would go for too. Reducing the amount spent on Brits to get a higher calibre of import. An import net tie who has the potential to be better than wiikman and kwall Dan green is as good as any Brit back up. After that, which Brits to you keep .. I think I'd rather go strong on defence with imports with at least 5 imports. That leaves 8 import forwards and a spare. Brits would be 1 defenceman and 3forwards

This thread though, is about given whatever budget for 2016/17 how do spend it? Spending a significant amount of a finite budget for a spare import forward, a spare import d-man and a spare import nettie is likely not a good financial management of that budget imo.

I would rather have 5 of the top Brits in the league than 7 average ones, average Brits are a dime a dozen and can be replaced quickly from the Epl. The Brits are irellivent unless they are near import level. But you said 5 top brits, and possibly Lacho and Dan Green - that's 6/7 Brits / wages before you then split the rest of the budget.

Hopefully the Netherlands can give it a good close game, making Italy work for the 60minutes, whilst we close our game out early on and conserve energy levels for Italy the following day. Good theory
