Great goal from storm tbf. But then an equally as good solo reply from Pither.
Little worried that with a little speed you can get round our D into a 1v1 situation regularly. Think that's just players getting used to the size of the ice.
Good game so far.

Whilst I think we controlled most of the game (1st / 3rd) Steelers could have been closer with 2 shots hitting the bar and a penalty shot. Saying that I do still think we had enough in the tank to beat them. Just watched the highlights back and two things stand out. Phillips I belive deliberately targets the head on the hit, luckily Betteridge continued to play on. And the 5th goal was a fantastic team goal finished of by Perlini.
The two breakaway goals show the high pressing game does work with both executed perfectly. Hurtubise, wow can he hit them. No wonder he has scored so many goals. Thought Lacho was excellent again with Rheult and Pither. The other hard working players such as Doty, Henderson and Biggs might not score lots of goals but they work damn hard. It’s all looking very exciting.
Quick question though have we played at full strength yet? Was gutted to hear Gutpil wouldn’t be playing.

Please tell me we aren’t doing that faceoff “rule” in the league? That’s an awful rule.

So it starts tonight with Devils vs Red Bull Salzburg.
I’ll be honest I have no idea how leagues compare I can’t keep up so how do people more ITK predict this one will go? I know it’s not Panthers related but worth keeping an eye on imo.
Oh it’s also on Freesport right now (virgin media: 553)

Ok fair enough another year in Telford should do him some good then. Our Brits are looking decent for the future.

This is a move he had to do imo. I also think Hazeldine should go if the opportunity arises.
Tetlow will be getting regular ice time now after his showing in pre season so he should stay.

My only worry tonight was Lepine keeps going in for the huge hit and it’s not paying off. This leaves us even shorter at the back considering how far up the ice we are already forechecking. At one point he missed the hit and nearly injured Kovac lmao

2-1 Panthers end of first.
Two great goals for Panthers. Perlini and Hurtibise (PP) scoring.
They are quick! Their goal, just flies round our D like they aren't even there and score on the rebound.
Good game so far.

First time watching the new team and I am very impressed. I was a little worried they has so many PP opportunities following what happening the previous night but held firm and ground out a win against fantastic opposition. I was impressed with Olsen and Doty.
Not too worries about Hurtibise yet as I think he will come good and Lacho had one of his best games in a long time. Looking forward to the weekend.

Don't know what to make of this game, don't think that either team will want to tip their hand and give away what lines, tactics, power plays for the forthcoming season Which is why I have never understand friendlies against teams in your own league. Granted fitness will be the main point of this game and expect the games against the foreign teams will be more tactical.

People on Twitter and FB begging for the Mok.... God knows why to be honest. He had obviously lost interest by Christmas. To be fair most of the team did, Mok has bags of potential I would like him to come back.

Funny this has come up as I have just seen tetlow in Lace market where the Panthers lived this past season. He isn't from Notts right? So I would assume he is sticking around.

I’m glad he is back, works really hard for the team. Hopefully he gets some more points in the bag this year too.

I am glad we went with someone outside of this league. Whislt we don't know exactly what we are going to get that does make it a little more exciting. Also please be the end of dump and no chase hockey. Can't watch another 2/3 years of that. Fast and skilled sounds good, we shall see.
The NEP have confirmed that Dan Ceman and Liciano Basile was on the shortlist.
