Good, glad he's signed up. Our best U23 by a distance, hopefully Cherno can get a bit more production out of him.

Got a feeling we're being drip fed these Brit re-signings building up to the big one of Perlini's return

Ollie (not Oakford) & Lacho were both FA's so they were open to other offers.
Half decent on the org. to tie up the 'obvious need' contracts first.

I’m glad he is back, works really hard for the team. Hopefully he gets some more points in the bag this year too.

I was very impressed with Ollie’s work rate last season. You always knew when he was on the ice, rushing from zone to zone seemed to have energy to burn.

I imagine Perlini, Mosey & Gospel will be the next announcements to close off the 'Brits'.
Then the trickier 2nd yr 'non Brits' will follow with some surprise releases.

Mosey is 2nd yr retain/release. Imagine he will be a priority decision due to his nation of choice.

Clubs tend to produce release/retain lists for the optional '2nd yr' contracts. They will be some more interesting announcements after the 'Brits' are sorted.

The thing is no one (or not many) will know which imports where potentially on a two year optional deal. I would have thought Perlini would be back or why would he still be hanging around Nottingham and not going back & it wouldn't surprise me to see more of last years team back than what we expect.

Interesting that he isn't listed on the roster for 18/19 on the OS

Interesting that he isn't listed on the roster for 18/19 on the OS I wouldn't read too much in to that. Historically the OS is hardly useful as we know.
I know Garnett sent that tweet over 'see you next year' but as I understand it all 2nd yr optionals are decided by the club initially, not the player.
Garnett would have been very very well paid last year. His past teams suggest he's rather a well off man. I'd argue his performance last season wasn't worth the money I imagine Panthers were paying him.

Any new import signed last season was 2nd year optional contract. They were all done like this for their first yr under Neilson. Was a way of covering the bases for the following season & preventing the player going to another EIHL team without the clubs blessing.

Spending the summer on a private motorbike safari of Uganda with his pilot of a girlfriend/fiancée/wife, also suggests he has plenty of money stashed away! I'd agree with the stance that he didn't earn his money last season, though he was essentially the biggest component in our CHL success.

That's very interesting, needless to say even when we've had a good year and silver wear we've never managed to keep a core of imports unlike other clubs.

The only downside I had with Garnett was hearing an interview with him on a radio station pre season in which he talked about not having an education to fall back on and he knew he wouldn't get another deal in the KHL, he had heard that some teams ran uni courses and was pointed in the direction of the UK by one of his friends. He said his priority was getting some education and even better if there was abit of hockey thrown in. put me off straight away as I didn't think he was coming for the right reasons (rightly or wrongly) just my take on it. The thing is this club hypes everyone up to the hilt and we get swallowed up and carried along with it, then we're all disappointed when they fall shy of the expectations.

Any player on yr 2 can go anywhere out of the EIHL. Sauve for example.
The theory is if the club first, then the player are happy it's a fast process. Think my boy Jordan Fox.
Panthers don't lose many players to other EIHL teams.

I can't help wonder if this was noted by his team mates as well.... Star name player, you would imagine paid very well, place taken by a less well known player.
Also, keeper is such a key position. Would the new coach want his 'own guy' between the pipes.
It just doesn't quite add up to me. Hence me questioning his place on the roster being so set in stone.
