Please accept my apologies for having to post this again.
We are still awaiting the receipt of sponsorship money from a significant number of people who took part in the Rink Rush Charity game in August. Obviously we want to get the money in as soon as possible so we can consider our options for next year. The longer we have to spend chasing money the less chance of anything happening in 2007.
If anyone is bringing their money to Saturday's game we can be found in the foyer before the game (you can't miss us, some or all of us will be wearing Rink Rush shirts) & in the Castle pub afterwards.
If not then can you please send a cheque made payable to The Rink Rush to:
4 Brisbane Drive Heronridge Top Valley Nottingham NG5 9LB
If you have any problems or queries please don't hesitate to contact us at info@therinkrush.org.uk
Thanks again to the mods for letting us post here.

I think you should name and shame the people who have not paid at the end of next week. The challenge game was arranged for a bloomin good cause, and its a shame to think that some people were looking purely at the fun of playing rather than the deeper reason that the the Rink Rush was set up.

SECONDED!!!! It's unbelievable that anyone hasn't coughed up their sponsorship cash yet. Sort it out players!

Maybe next year an idea would be a flat £200 players fee up front, this can then be re-claimed from your sponsorship before you send any extra you got in? This is how most big charity events work, like the 'walk the wall' thing in China that happens every year. You have to pay £500 up front and then deduct it back from your total sponsorship. Ref next year. Would be nice to come up with a plan soon so I can get the ice time sorted! He asks me every time I speak to him, bookings are comong in all the time and it's getting fuller. Even if you could just have some dates, I could book it so we get it and then cancell if needed.

I know what you mean but from what we've so far a fair proportion of those playing won't make £200 (not that there's anything wrong with that - far from it we're grateful for every penny) & if, like yourself, the money is raised online through Justgiving how do you get your money back? I think the one thing that is very clear in all this is that the Rink Rush has got to go away & look at where we went wrong this time & make changes to how we do things next time around. As for next year I'll try & have a word with everyone on Saturday night (if we're not too busy moaning that is) & we'll hopefully let you know next week. Kai - yes we have, so you're safe Paul

Not everyone has the people that have sponsored them close at hand and can`t get all the money in at once.
I don`t think naming and shaming people is quite in the spirit that the game was played or the cause the money is being raised for.
I`m sure they are doing their best to collect it all as quickly as possible.

I need my sponsership form back so I can collect the money in from people. I have been asking for it for quite a while now. As soon as I get the form i'll pay it out of my own money and then you won't have to wait while I track people down. I can't remember how much I had on my form.

Name and Shame is not really a nice way to go, as Carolle has said some people can't get all the money in immediately and unfortunately sponsorship in this instance is a "pledge" rather "upfront". At CR UK we obviously hope to get all the money "pledged" but it rarely happens. The Race For Life events at Nottingham in June have so far raised around £500,000.....BUT less than 60% of money pledged has been returned.
Appalling!
With Rink Rush there is one BIG advantage, the people who played are mates or mates of mates, or more than mates in some cases. So if your "mate" hasn't got their money in, get on their back!! We should easily beat the pathetic Race For Life 60%.
STEVE
PS. Listening to Radio Nottingham while typing this post. They say that Sunday will be a nice day for a walk, sunny and all that, so if anyone fancies one - there is a good one at Chatsworth.

I'll send the dog but I may have my feet up instead.......
Regards the charity. Same with the DVD made from the game.Too many 'I'll have one's' who have blown the presumed end target of money apart. If you didn't intend buying then don't say anything. The worst thing is then contacted these people who since have NEVER replied.
It could put a doubt on doing things in future for those who are really interested. Yes I am angry because I put alot of effort in for these same people but.....nameing is pointless as people may be listed who have actually paid up as peeps could not even get it right when ordering.Ending up on the list twice. .....be good folks.

To be honest I don't want to name & shame either because it is causes more problems than it's worth.

Rink Rush Team,
Im one of the culprits! im sorry. Have been chasing the last few people but unfortunatly after pledging £10 they dont want to put hands in pockets. Will give them until payday on Tuesday, then will get mine to you at the next home game!
