Italian hockey is of much higher quality than the league over here. Indigenous players over there for the most part are much better than the Brits in this league, and hence they are slightly less reliant on imports to underpin the quality of their rosters. I don't think the support for hockey in Italy amounts to as much as it does over here, but you have to tally that again the mountainous terrain that makes travelling between towns much harder.
I also believe that there's no wage cap in Italy, and many of the teams are based in small ski-towns bankrolled by the local council, similar to what happens in France. So the imports are better, and the natives can learn more.

Not impressed with that, Never really liked Kelman.
Top signing for Vipers, hes the out and out quality euro they need to balance their team out. Took bottle to gass Beveridge tho IMO he was a good hard working player

Can I ask as to why you don't like him? Well, it's very hard to take seriously a player who gets nicknamed "Killer"..... especially when you've seen 'Slapshot' "Dave's a killer!"
"Dave's a mess....." ;D

It was him, but it was also a toungue in cheek, to be taken with a very large pinch of salt bums on seats kind of article (much like his nick name "Killer" . Maybe there was a hint of dislike towards the Panthers but hey, he did take a stick from Myers in the face that season. Had to get plastic surgery because of it. Killer is a sound bloke, nicest guy off the ice, a nice guy on the ice (sometimes too nice), fantastic move by the Giants, hopefully now we will get a balance of business and hockey sense within the organisation.

Shame Bevi had to go after the years of service he gave to the franchise, but it's another good move(hopefully). Vipers have not had a decent 1st line centre(bar 6 or so games at the start of last season) for nearly 3 years since Marc W**t left us(in more contaversial circumstances than when that dan bloke left you). Some quality players have left these shores to play in Italy, Kuznik and Ricci springing to mind straight off.

Killer.....puts his name to it, so killer wrote it. Or Killer 'eats local rag man' is the next heading.
