Taken from the Sheffield Stir:
In many ways, he's a nice problem to have.
Dan the Man is Steelers' top points-scorer, best Sheffield player by a mile and one of the Elite League's finest talents, all bundled up in a secure two-year Arena deal.
But, like the rest of the import forwards, he just isn't scoring enough goals.
He has three - all of them on the power play.
And that frustration, allied to Sheffield's poor run of results, has led to penalties which have weakened the side.
Tessier has taken 75 PIMs - an absence the virtual equivalent of four whole periods.
His linemates haven't had much success feeding off his passes recently, and coach Dave Matsos now has to work on finding a way of getting the best out of his star man - and keeping him out the penalty box.
Matsos says: "It is frustrating for us all when he takes penalties because we need him out there on the ice.
"We were 1-0 down against Hull (last Sunday's away defeat) when he took 2+10 for checking from behind. That sort of thing doesn't help anybody.
"The puck has not been going in from him and he is very passionate about the game, but gets frustrated.
"I have spoken to him about it, because he is a lot more valuable on the ice than anywhere else."
Tessier failed to get a point in the back-to-back defeats last weekend - the first matches he has drawn a blank in this season.
He has one goal in the last six games, while linemates Brett Clouthier and Shaun Sutter have one in nine and one in six respectively.
Matsos, though, thinks Clouthier was Steelers' best player against Edinburgh last Saturday.
He added that Sutter was one of the fittest players he'd ever worked with and forecast he, too, would be among the goals soon.
What a shame.....
