Europe taking it toll maybe. A weekend where most panthers fans would of expected at least 3 points. Just important that we pick ourselves up and get going midweek.

So much for three games in hand... Question is, did we play well? I know last time we met Manchester it was Wolfe that did most of the damage by building a wall in front of the net

A friendly request to the powers that be at the GMB Nottingham Panthers.
Can we please stop playing in tournaments we can not win. Tournaments where the best we can hope for is qualifying for the next round. Tournaments that are nothing more than a nice weekend away for the players, and an extended booze up for the fans. Tournaments that other clubs seem to refuse to take part in. Tournaments that threaten to derail our domestic season.
Thank You.

Tournaments that other clubs seem to refuse to take part in. Tournaments that threaten to derail our domestic season. Thank You. Amen to that. What's more important - fans having a great weekend away, or the chance to pick up what should have been a minimum 3 point weekend? And before we get all the usual 'Well the opposition played really well and we are underestimating them' remarks, can I just ask, when did Belfast, Coventry, Sheffield et al, drop 3 points out of 4 against bottom half of the table opposition on their way to the League titles?

From what I saw Wolfe made the save and seemed to lose the puck, one of yours tried to tip it in but Wolfe rolled round and covered it with his catcher.
Very difficult to say if it went in or not. People seem to get all wrapped up in what the goal judge does, I'm afraid it doesn't matter! There is only one man on the ice that can award a goal, regardless of whatever anyone else says, and in this case he didn't. You will benefit from the same situation at some point during the year.

Convenient.
Point the finger at the Continental Cup (which in all honesty is probably to blame I agree) and decry it. I could stomach this if people had complained about us entering it BEFORE last weekend but at that point everyone was beside themselves with pride and excitement so let's not turn round now and complain about it and swear blind we shouldn't have entered and how stupid the club were, eh?
A few months ago Belfast and Newcastle were stupid for NOT entering.

Hello people, As a 'neutral' who attended the event tonight, I thought I would just say that the Panthers only just deserved the point, cos it wasn't a very convincing performance from you lot. However, I do agree that you was robbed with the OT goal, right to the point where I have a photo that proves that the puck crossed the line, but due to copyright I cannot post it on here.

Lots of sense being spoken here. I'm sure those that went had a great time, I know I enjoyed the experience the other year in Amiens, but at least then we'd actually earned the right to represent this country by winning the Challenge Cup the previous season. This year, by doing the 'honorable thing' and filling the breach left due to no other team wanting to represent the country, we will probably have yet again shot ourselves in the foot. Some might say that the extra games in a competitive tournament are already having an affect on the performances and injuries, but the real cost could be that by passing up on Elite League fixtures we could have been playing (and winning) here, we've give Belfast the green light to build a lead over us. Will we see them for dust? Who knows, but we really should stop doing the 'honorable thing' and start worrying what is best for the Nottingham Panthers one of these days. Points in the bag are better than games in hand any day of the week for me. The season started so well, and I was so optimistic, but such a flat performance last night can only point to players being so overworked in recent days. Oh, and I did express reservations on here about us playing in Europe. I just hope that they aren't actually realised and that they stay as reservations.

sorry Andy but alot of people myself included have said it was a waste of time and even if we had entered by right (which we DIDNT btw) we should have not entered into an unecessary competition which we had absolutely no chance of winning....

my thoughts on tonight, first period... started much the same as last night, got better as the night went on, last period I thought we were back to 'normal'. Also at the end of the day we have only failed to take points from 1 single game so far.
Incidents during the game... That final goal was in. Im sure of it. The lino thought it, goal judge.. everyone.
Simoes check. Broke the guys shoulder apparently, gives Tambo no right to mouth off at us calling us goons. If hes gonna stand 3 feet from the plexi and hold the puck hes gonna get hurt. Thats practically the first thing you learn when taking hits, you stay flat to the boards.
If anyones a classless goon its cambell. He comes in and blindsides Simoes. Then backs away as Simoes gets angry.
Overall I think the result was fair though, we paid the price for 2 poor periods.
Also Lindsays kick save was amazing!
End of the game, Reesy wanted to go but whoever he was squaring up to didnt, despite having about 6 inches on him. Shmyr wanted to go but Gomez refused.... Probably afraid to take the rightful vengance for Cambells cheapshot on Simmy. I thought he was meant to be a fighter! Ha ha, what a joke.
