LOL , the Star as accurate as ever, actually says "NHS" standard. Sarich is by far Steelers' most influential d-man, prompting coach Dave Matsos to claim in The Star that he was of NHS standard. Please, stop it, I am in tears laughing

just one question though: if he is nhl standard why isnt he in the nhl? surely the steelers are over the wage cap (again) if he is nhl class

Hmm...........shows the professionalism of the Stir "journalists".
Rod Sarich is a good offensive D-men but he'd barely make a EIHL All star team, let alone the NHL.

if Sarich, ever played NHL he wouldn't be able to play like he does over here, you can't do what he does in the NHL, and i definitly don't rate him as a D man anyway

I'd say the Star was spot on for once! ;D There were plenty around the league and not a few in Sheffield who would have classed Rod as being better suited for the NHS than the NHL for much of last season!

Mastos has also set Gustravason a 40 point total this season.
Give mastos his due, he keeps us entertained ;D

lmao this is very old news but never noticed the NHS either It sells papers and makes every other team in the country laugh, nothing wrong with that unless you actually take the star seriously still!

Jeez, I guess Bob Westerdale will be leading on a story comparing Jody Lehmann's career achievements to those of Patrick Roy next.
The only thing that springs to mind is "only in Sheffield!" on this matter.

It could be the way he delivers the puck, then it could be DHL.. ;D In football, a bad pass to a player is called a hospital ball, they could have got mixed up and then you could say NHS pass...

Don't appreciate the last posting either Dave. Neither did I - hence the deletion of posts. I'm all for banter but not when it becomes personal and offensive.

Agree - totally uncalled for. However do believe Sarich is more Hospital Porter ( no slur intended) than NHL class D man, and, as we know having seen Moran and Boynton, they are a completely different class from what we normally encounter.
