Hello all, I am pleased to say BBC Radio Nottingham are introducing a weekly ice-hockey show each Friday night between 6.30 and 7 o'clock. Panthers Powerplay will be part of the Radio Nottingham pre-match programme with half an hour dedicated to ice-hockey each week. As the show title suggests we'll look ahead to the weekend action, as well as introducing new features with special guests each week. The show will run from now until the end of the season and this Friday, coach Mike Ellis will join myself and presenter Alan Clifford in the studio. I can also confirm there'll be full match commentary from France on each of the Continental Cup games on the web at www.bbc.co.uk/nottingham

I'm gonna have to get a radio now! Or will the show be available on the BBC website for a few days afterwards?

Something that the fans have been longing for and I'm sure it will be a success.
Well done to all involved for getting it up and running.
Look forward to listening in!

Absolutely great news. Well done Radio Nottingham and also to you Chris for what I am sure has been a great deal of lobbying behind the scenes.

Just what we need to try to reach out for new fans. Maybe a few of the football fans who listen to the show will be tempted along.

thing is Panthers are the third most successful sport team from Nottingham in recent years last year the Nott CC won the Title 2005 Nottingham RC got promoted not sure was either 2004/2005 2005/2006 Then Panthers Challenge Cup 2004 Forest won promotion to the premership 1997/98 Notts County.
So IMHO that the most succesful teams should get more media coverage.

Notts County won their Championship by 17 points and with six games to spare the very same season that Forest won promotion to the Premiership Jay. Good news all round! Shame it couldn't have been an hour long like the programmes last season during the playoffs but all publicity is good publicity.

Hi all...
Just to confirm that Mike Ellis will be in the studio, and this week we will be joined by Ed Courtenay, Kim Ahroos and Marc Levers.
We will look back at a memorable Panthers/Belfast meeting of the past, in additon to looking forward to this weekends game.
The show will be very flexible, some weeks we will invite calls for a phone-in, and other times there'll special features but I want it to be your show too. So any ideas please let me know!
Chris

Excellent, a big well done to all concerned for getting the Panthers a regular slot.
One idea as one of your guests this week is Kimmy , it led me on wouldn t it be great if you could somehow contact some old faces, fan favourites etc, from years gone by and eith invite them over or somehow record a interview with them, i think that would be a massive hit. ;D

Radio Nott'm and the POST are extremely good to the Panthers and the Panthers are equally good to them.
