Looking on the HallamFM website, I see that Razorlite play on Sunday 22nd at 7.30pm, and we face-off at Ice Sheffield at 8.15pm. Knowing very little about the group, and how many people would go there by car, I just wondered if this is likely to cause a parking problem for us? Car park always seems very full when we go to a Steelers game

I would expect quite a lot of people to be there. So expect a very full car park. I'd get there early in that case

I would expect anything between 7,000 - 10,000 to be at that concert. If you think an average Ice Hockey crowd @ the Hallam Arena, of 3500 - 5,000 fills that car park, imagine what it will be like on this day, with a game on @ Ice Sheffield too. I think that is a huge reason for the delayed/late face-off time too. To allow the concert rush to die down. I shall be using public transport that day.

Up all night was an excellent album! On a tangent though, i heard somewhere that some of Manchesters games will be played in Chester? Was that someone playing a mean trick on me?

I think that is a huge reason for the delayed/late face-off time too. To allow the concert rush to die down. I think you'll find the reason for the late face off is not because of the concert, it's because the Scimitars are playing at 5.15 with the Manchester game afterwards. And I think, don't quote me cos I was in Hull last night, Manchester used the public pad for the warm up before having the game on the Performance Pad, so that f/o wasn't even later. Anyway, if you want to miss the concert rush then come up early for the Scimitars game. If they have any sense then they'll run the same deal for it as they did last night, where if you attend both matches you get a discounted entry.

Razorlight sold out the NIC, so expect the same sort of thing at Shuff.
As for the Deeside rink, its a nice place. Big ice surface, and nearly always good ice. Not the most seats, but enough i would imagine.

Oh and we(ice tigers) will probably be playing a game there if you can handle the lightning speed, our passing is so quick and smooth you may lose sight of the puck

Dont also forget that with no Panthers game next Sunday, The Cage are sponsoring Nottingham Lions v Kingston Jets.
See the thread at the top for more details.

On a tangent though, i heard somewhere that some of Manchesters games will be played in Chester? Was that someone playing a mean trick on me? LOL - they'd need wheels on their feet instead of blades Deeside isn't far though, and not a bad place. I learnt to skate there. Not much seating or facilities though unless it's changed since I was there 20 years ago They used to do good doughnuts in the cafe (no pun intended )

Back on topic Went to the Phoenix - Giants game last night and the car park and overflow car park were both full. However they didn't have any problem letting us park across the road at the Institute of Sport, so I don't think there will be a problem.

Ice sheffield sometimes let you park on the field next to it, parking shouldnt be a problem really but you have to go up to ice shuffs entrance (next one along from the islands where the arena square is) turn left at the lights (you cant really miss them! theres a natwest on the corner) then theres parking on field.

Yes, it's practically next door. Instead of turning onto Broughton Lane, keep going straight on, there will be a Natwest on the right and IS is on the leftt.

Helen, if we come from the M1, is Broughton Lane where the Hallam arena is. So instead of turning left go straight on.
